The BU women's game at C of C was officiated like an NBA game. The big bulky inside players for C of C were allowed all game to use both forearms and push the Bradley players away from the basket. I have never seen a women's game officiated with so much physical contact and it frustrated them from the start, and lead to a big early lead by Charleston. Coupled with Bradley's best inside player's (Sonya Harris) illness and inability to play, Bradley was doomed to rely on the oput side shot. However, C of C was better at that as well- C of C shot 45.3% on threes.
Bradley's historic run to the first postseason appearance in program history came to an end with a 76-66 loss to College of Charleston Sunday in the quarterfinals of the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational at Carolina First Arena. The Cougars took advantage of 17 Bradley turnovers and pulled down 16 offensive boards to upend the Braves as BU finished the season with a 17-14 overall record.
Bradley loses seniors Jenny Van Kirk and Renee Frericks to graduation, but will return a lot of their team next year, along with several very good incoming recruits.
Here are a lot of great photos of the team's trip to Charleston, SC.-
