Billy Wright story

I think Billy has tried. He has been a good influence to his players for Bradley, and Bradley has been able to get involved with Pike's players partly because of him. But assistant coaches don't have as much influence on where a kid decides to go as you might think.
This fall will actually be Billy Wright's first year as head coach at Indianapolis Pike high school. The last few years he has been an assistant. 2 of the last few Division I recruits from his team, Jeff Teague, and Courtney Lee, did give a great deal of consideration to Bradley, partly because of Billy's influence. But then Teague "blew up" over the summer and got offers from major schools like Indiana, Boston College, and Wake Forest (where he committed). And Lee picked Western Kentucky over Bradley, a close second. We all remember the comment about "the facilities"
The only other recent Div I players I can recall, Robert Vaden, was a high major recruit early on and left Pike to attend an East coast prep school his senior year before attending Indiana, Cordell Passley is a 2008 recruit who is already comitted to a high major, Tennessee, and Curtis White was a marginal Div I recruit who signed with Howard University and was not considered by Bradley.
