Eldridge did nothing to increase his pro stock in this game.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
Kent State leads Tulsa 75-74 with 12 seconds left. TU gets the final possession. This game is a lot like the BU game at ISU Blue where both teams were scoring on every possession late.
The pathetic postseason continues for the Pac-10 tonight. While Stony Brook could not get the job done against Illinois, their America East conference mates Boston University manhandled Oregon St. at their place 96-78. This makes the second CBI in three years where Oregon St. loses at home to a small/mid major team, as they lost to Valparaiso two years ago.
One can only wonder how Washington and California will look in the NCAA Tournament this week!

the attendance of 3023 was the smallest home crowd in 25 years to see a Missouri State (or SMS) game...and was only 42 fans from being the smallest ever since going DI
not a proud showing for a Valley team

As much as I don't mind these smaller tourneys, I can see why most think the NIT is more than enough with regards to the consolation tourneys. The NIT is truly the best of the rest (outside of UNC and UConn ), while these others are just picking up the leftover "scraps". Though there are some good teams amongst the CBI/CIT contigient, what honor does a team get for winning one of these? Just a small trophy for the trophy case, but not much else.
I think the novelty may be wearing off these tourneys, though I can see one of these staying around if the NCAA Tournament expands and the NIT is dropped by the NCAA. But the chances of the NIT being dropped is relatively slim, even with NCAA tourney expansion.
