  • Valley Teams in Action Tuesday - Creighton wins, Indiana State Loses

    Creighton beats South Dakota 89 - 78 and hit 12-23 3-pointers...
The attendance was stated as 4,348...(not a mistake)
Who was criticizing Bradley's ability to draw only 7500 in the postseason....can they comment on this??

Creighton's starters scored only 33 points and they got 56 pts off the bench!

In the CBI - Indiana State loses at Saint Louis 63-54, with the Sycs shooting very poorly from the field (32%)...Saint Louis drawing only 3,542.

Attendance will be down for these post season games because of spring break and also corporate seats that are not purchased.

then can that same excuse be used for Bradley's smaller crowds when we played at home in the past few years' tournies?

Bradley only drew 4472 in their first round game of the CIT last year. Most people just don't care about these "lower" tourneys.

Did you read where Indiana State - 6th place in the MVC - went to play at Saint Louis - 4th place in the A-10...
and InSU did not have their best two players (Kelly, Marshall) and a couple of their other players were injured, too..
Yet- they played to within 9 points against SLU (63-54)....but the Billiken fans were chanting...
          "worse than Fordham...."
at the Sycamore players & team...(Fordham being their 0-16 last place team)
hmmmm....wow, they win a CBI game at home by a whopping 9 pts against a hobbled team that's won only 6 of their last 16 games (6-10 since Marshall and Lathan got hurt) and has now lost 4 of their last 5...and they get kinda cocky!!

I watched that game, and Indiana State did look terrible. They made a lot of unforced turnovers, took many bad shots, and shot poorly. St. Louis isn't really a very good team, but if Indiana State had played as well as they played in their Valley games, they should have won that game. But they looked like a completely different team.

Indiana State's starters were 8-37 from the field- 21.6%!
            Rashad Reed- 3-11
            Brant Leitnacker- 0-1
            Carl Richard- 1-9
            Dwayne Lathan- 2-10
            Jordan Printy- 2-6

If ISU (blue) is worse than Fordham, shouldn't SLU win by 30+? If not, they might even LOSE at Fordham - and probably at Indy St.! Not the brightest of fans I guess.

That being said, should we play in one of these tourneys again, would the new on-campus arena be a possibility for one of these games? At least a first round game? I think it would be pretty cool for the men to return to campus for a game. And if we're only going to draw about 4,000 or so, the place would be packed! Just a thought.

To be fair, it was a 15-20 point game all night until St. Louis went 6 minutes without a basket late in the game...the lead was 19 with 7 to play.

It isn't fair to consider scores after 40 minutes? Only after 33 minutes? So what should one make of the Illinois/Arizona game back in 2005?

So they beat a 9-9 Indy St team but lost to an 8-10 Missouri St team this season.

I guess when Arizona State had an 11 point lead with just 4 minutes to go..they should have just called it of...
The Sun Devils should be better next year with Corey Hawkins and Brandon Dunson!

I like the idea of playing one of these tour. games at the new facilities on campus .
