The recruiting analyst Dave Telep of scout.com and his intern, Drew Cannon, conducted a study two years ago that showed what makes a great midmajor player. They came up with nine categories, defining the best players who are not in the six power conferences.
This is a copy of the report, commissioned by Dave Telep, the national recruiting director of Scout.com, and researched and written by Drew Cannon in the summer of 2009, analyzing 32 players who made first-team all-league in midmajor conferences.
