  • Marcus Jordan's coach is fired

Kirk Speraw fired as head coach of Central Florida

Marcus started every conference game and averaged 11 ppg in conference play
two other Chicago kids, Nik Garcia (already left), and AJ Rompza went to UCF.

anyone want to give odds he won't stay around unless MJ is hired as coach??

I really liked his game, pretty aggressive guard. I don't recall his name around here, but did BU try to recruit him out of HS at all?

      No.
Most of Marcus' recruiting interest came late, after he lead Young to the 4A state title. By then, Bradley had Milos, JP, DSE, and Jake either committed or targeted and didn't need a player like Marcus.

DSE is better at every facet of the game than Marcus Jordan.
        Onward and Upward!

Um, thats a pretty tough argument to make:

SEASON TEAM MIN PTS REB AST TO A/T STL BLK PF FG% FT% 3P% PPS
              2009-2010 UCF 26.1 8.0 3.1 2.5 1.9 1.33 1.2 .3 2.0 .413 .698 .276 1.31
              2009-2010 BRAD 20.6 5.4 2.4 1.7 1.4 1.22 .9 .1 1.5 .398 .644 .342 1.14

in fact, Marcus Jordan seems to be better at every facet of the game (except 3pt%). But hey, 11 out of 12 isn't bad.

I don't think you can compare is this way.....i think the basis is just the "eye test"

I've only seen Jordan twice...both last week in the CUSA tourney, and based on what I saw of him, I agree 100% with your assessment. I was less than impressed. From what I saw of DSE, he will be the far better player down the road.

I am surprised at this move by UCF. This was a very young team this year that actually overachieved, and they were playing their best ball at the end of the season. It looked like they would be a force to be reckoned with the next couple years in CUSA, but now it depends on sho they hire and how many of their players remain. I'm impressed with Rompza even though he is small.

Completely agree. I saw Marcus Jordan at the state finals last year and thought that he was overrated. Good player, and it would be difficult to play with that last name, but I'll take DSE anytime over Marcus!
                    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Man, and here I thought I was critical...

                      Was Marcus hurt this year?

Was he the 4th or 5th option on his team at best?

The answer to your last question is yes...and that is at best. Isaac Sosa off the bench was a much bigger threat than Jordan.

I'd be interested in seeing how their stats compare over just the last 10 games or so.......... I think DSE is going to be something special.

                            I agree...

I watched both play on the same floor in h.s. and without a doubt could tell which would be a better player....
