I think they need to look at the ENTIRE body of work of a team when selecting them.
I am not against looking at he last 10-12 games in a season, but I also think a game in Nov and Dec is just as important as a game in Feb and March.

I think the argument of picking the teams who are playing best 'right now' is loaded to favor the BCS schools. A mid could be dominating right now, but the talking heads would be saying that they don't play anyone. Conversely, a BCS school could be muddling around in a good league and beating no one good, yet would get put in the conversation because of what league they're in. If the focus is only the end of the season, why even play the rest of the season?Onward and Upward!

But - the selection committee does indeed want to know what you've done lately...
this is also the reason Doug Eligin wants to look at our EARLY tourney - which fades from those guys' mind..thus "the rust factor" comment above...
