Also, I suggest we remember that Donivine still has another year of high school ball to get better, and mature. I have seen him play, and he is quick, maybe not Daniel Ruffin quick (not many are), but he is not a walk-it-up type of guard by any means.
He will be a great player at Bradley!
And his commitment gives Bradley 2 players committed for 2011. (Sean Harris, too)
I suspect we will be hearing soon about a couple more for 2010.

None of the greatest players in the history of this program hail from Peoria, and I think it's a slight on those all-time greats to say that players from Peoria show more passion than they did. Is there anyone that shows more passion than Sam Maniscalco? He's from Chicago.

That seems like quite the stretch on what he said......bottom line is, and I think bradleybrave will agree, is it doesn't matter WHERE kids come from as long as they are good.
And his point is BU's long history of great players is littered with players mostly from outside of Peoria. Thats all.
Itsa not importaint WHERE JL gets them...just that he gets them.

You've got a better shot with homegrown talent. If D Stewart lived in Fresno, he ain't coming to Bradley. Recruiting local is important because in my opinion you can get higher quality players that you probably deserve simply because they want to stay home. Stewart's quotes today make my point exactly.
I guarantee you that if Jim Les was not getting the hometown kids, people would be all over him, and now that he is, it's not that big of a deal.

And you contention makes no sense. Bradleys greatest players have come from OUTSIDE Peoria. Simple mathmateics yes but the argument was that locals are better becuase they are like renting vs owning the home.
IF thats true we've had some great renters...
And for those not thrilled with Jims record for the last 8 years I haven't heard too many screaming to get more local kids.....its get the most talented from wherever.
