The top four seeds always get home games, if that's what you were asking. Maybe I missunderstood your question.

OK, otherwise, the lower seeds are the home teams.

The Dante Medder ACL injury in the 1st half against UTEP in the CUSA semis makes it very unlikely that Tulsa even beats Kent State, especially on the road. Tulsa is now down to about 7 players who play, and only 3 of them even look to score.

The game is at Stony Brook's newly repaired arena!

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Well the lower the numbers, the higher the seed. So the 16 teams that are seeded 1 through 4 all usually get home games. But Illinois apparently will be sent on the road because their home court is being used this week. Some "home" team was sent on the road last year too for the same reason.

Well, we know at least one team will have a guaranteed sellout this week! Good for Stonybrook! I hope they make the most of their chance.

My guess is that UNC will draw more than other teams. Therefore the attendance factor obviously still dictates seeding no matter what nonsense the NIT committee tries to feed us! At least the CBI and CIT committees are honest when it comes to that fact.
UNC brings the potential of big $$$$$$$$$$ if they win. Especially TV revenue. But don't worry, they're not likely to even beat William & Mary...... And UNC will be lucky to fill 50% of the Dean Dome for that game. Carolina fans have no patience for mediocrity.

Yeah, but I thought the "new" NIT was supposed to seed teams per performance, not money. Apparently not though. Perhaps they are going after the BCS teams that may have bolted to the CBI, though I don't think UNC would go anywhere near that tournament.

I read that the reason the U of I couldn't host a first round game was that Circa de Solle has Assembly Hall booked for either possible first round date and they can't play at Huff because of renovations. Don't know if other alternate sites were discussed.

Jerry Palm got all 65 teams selected correct. Take THAT Lunardi.

Is the NIT even credible when it invites a 16-16 5-11 team into its tournament just because of the name on the front of the jersey then insures a home game for that same team?

It is just sickening how much influence ESPN has over College Basketball. NCAA/NIT you are no different then a $20 street H****r.

                              Let's get something straight:

Any mid-major bias the NCAA has against them....is dwarfed by the mid-major bias of the NIT committee. This was blatant this year. Absolutely shamelessly blatant.
