At the end of the 1st quarter just now, the 7 footer from Robinson just nailed a Robertsesque shot from around the free throw line. Leonard also posterized a Decatur St. Theresa player recently, youtube vid is below...

looks like more fans in Peoria for the 2A title game than were present for the CUSA Houston/UTEP game earlier today...
Well if any of the teams besides Memphis had brought fans here, then maybe there would have been some. And every Memphis fan left when they were eliminated Thursday, unlike the MVC tourney where many fans from the losing teams stay until the end. I was actually surprised at how many did show up for the CUSA title game today...the attendance was actually not bad at all, and was greater than some of the previous MVC finals when they used to be held on Monday night.

I was watching the CUSA tournament earlier this week. Utep vs Central Florida in an early round game. There was like 15 people there. I couldn't believe it.
Not sure if anyone else attended this game tonight, but I have to say this might have been the worst officiated state tournament game I've ever seen. Illinois recruit Meyers Leonard should have had multiple T's for unsportsmanlike behavior, he fouled Manual players numerous times with no calls (seemed like the refs continually were protecting him from fouling out of game being as he had 4 fouls for most of 4 quarter), and goaltended multiple times with no call. Not sure what #15's name is but he moved on his screens every single time with no call and at one point he fell and wrapped his arms around Marvin Jordan's leg for about 5 seconds so he couldn't move, again no call. I was very disappointed! Seems like the refs marooned Manual not Robinson.

Well when the game starts after 9 p.m., the closest competing school is 850 miles away, and the game is basically over a few seconds after the opening tip, that's what happens. We lasted until the under 12 timeout of the 2nd half, and I'm still not sure why we stayed past the under 12 timeout of the 1st half.

It was officiated more like an NBA game. The refs let both sides get away with too much.
All night they allowed the Manual centers to guard Leonard with their arms stretched out widely, and not allowing Leonard to get around them. I have never seen a game at any level where a defender was allowed to use their arms outstretched like that the entire game.
That's how they limited him to just 9 shot attempts the entire game.

you think so??
The refs called Manual for 31 fouls (in a 32 minute game plus OT) and 51 fouls overall were called,
with Robinson going to the line 43 times, and 67 FT's shot overall...
One foul called on Leonard was shown on replay, and I could not see where there was any contact at all, yet a foul was called...I thought it should have been a clean block...
i stated in another thread that the refs were hard to figure....charges that looked like blocks...blocks that looked like charges.....Leonard getting undercut and tripped and then gets called for one on NO contact????
And Manual got called for way to many ticky tack fouls in OT.....
these two programs, teams and fans...deserved better .........
Wonder If Weber knew Leonard could shoot from the FAR outside?????
dont know where the tall jordan is going to school but i think he is a stud and wouldn't mind him in a bu uni has better skills then our big men do now go big or go home next year again
I really liked Andrew Jordan. I think he might need to be 6'8" to play at Bradley's level with the type of game he has now. He is a nice player, but just a little short to not be a better ballhandler. He looked interesting though. He was the most interesting of the players in the final four to me besides Leanard. I liked the guard from Robinson also, but my opinion dropped a lot as time went on. He is only 6 foot tall and really had trouble handling the ball. He was a very good shooter and strong, but I don't know that he is a Division one point guard.

Hannahs or Jones?
They lose without Hannahs vs Manual and don't get by Hales without Jones...
