  • IHSA basketball games

The IHSA Class 1A and 2A boys semifinals and finals are this weekend at Carver Arena. If anyone from out of town is interested in watching these games, I came across an IHSA site that streams the broadcasts.

Click on the Coming Soon link in the upper left, and it will show the schedule for the games today (3/12) and tomorrow (3/13). The games can be seen by clicking on the link for each game.

Peoria Manual plays at 6:30 pm CST tonight.

Here is the main IHSA site which will update scores-

note there is also a link in the upper right for audio streaming if anyone is interested.

Here are a couple nice articles from todays (3/12) PJ Star-

Small-school state finals are starting to display big-city appeal

Bull market for Rams??™ blue chipper

The second article is about Peoria Manual All-State guard Lawrence Alexander (6'3"). He is a legitimate D1 prospect, and some have compared him to former Richwoods star and All Stater Jamar Smith. I have heard that a number of D1 schools have watched him recently, including one from Peoria.

These are the types of players we should be in on...

Not the Iman Shumpert's of the world that we have no chance on.

I agree 100%. Nice article in the PJstar today about Frazier from Richwoods. With the right coaches and system, this kid could become a decent player at the mid major level somewhere.

          Anyone recruiting Aaron Davis?

Have watched him play a few times and think he'd be solid at our level...

Also, what about Deal? He looks like a stud, but I hear he has grade issues....

I agree on the wsste of time trying to get the likes of Shumpert. But it's easier said than done to get a Division 1 player out of the Peoria area to attend Bradley. If they are Big 10, Big East, etc. material it's always been hard to get them to stay unless they always wanted to play for the Braves. the likes of Zobrist and Adams. IMO Dick Versace was successful in getting the players out of the Chicago area that the big schools didn't show enough interest in. I hope Jim goes and gets the players he wants and the players the Braves need. Good luck Jim.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I'll be there tonight for the 2A games... want to catch a view of Meyers Leonard (U of I) and a few others. Saw Manual once this year and excited to see them here again.. should be some great games.
