Seems strange to think the NIT has a bubble to be on.

I think another term is in order.

    On the gas bag?
    On the septic hatch?
    On the rutabaga?
    On the waterfront?

ISU, otoh, has a stock profile that is trending generally up.
Still, I'm not sure I have ever watched an NIT game.
Could be a rabbit ears thing.

I agree with you, but obviously ISU was satisfied with their NIT appearance last year or they would have scheduled up. They thought they had the NIT in the bag this year with the same, if not worse schedule. But if they can't even make the NIT this year, maybe that will finally be what wakes them up.

Sometimes it takes more than a few blows to the face before someone learns their lesson.

I think ISU will be scrapping for an NIT bid and only 8 in this list getting a bid (leaving 7 out):

        Marshall
        Tulsa
        S Florida
        Nevada
        Tex Tech
        Northeastern
        ISU
        Charlotte
        La Tech
        Portland
        Wright St
        St Louis
        NC St
        Miami, Fl
        Alabama

The teams in bold are the ones I think will get a bid.

NC State, Alabama, and Miami are not getting NIT bids. I'll bet Rick Majerus' weight loss plan on that one.

              Nicely done B4L.

I won't bother mentioning who I think I have "LOCKED IN", cause whatever gets into the NCAA will leave the teams out but in the NIT. So I go with obvious teams in and not worry whether Memphis or Minnesota gets an NCAA, both are in NCAA or NIT. Then I put in Auto-Bids like Coastal Carolina. What's left is what I think are the NIT BUBBLE on that list. Notable (maybe) teams I leave OUT of the NIT (and likely help fill the CBI and CIT) are:

              Fairfield
              IUPUI
              Akron
              Iona
              Indy St
              Mo St
              Coll of Charleston
              Harvard
              App St
              Buffalo

Some others in top 110 RPI that haven't been listed have losing records and will not make the NIT (and will be in CBI and CIT if they want to play).

Their poor conference records might keep them out, but they do have overall winning records.

I consider UNC and Arizona IN, but maybe I should add them to the Bubble List and increase the number of bids available to 10.

I've got my eye on Fairfield and Akron out of that group.

I had ISU as a 5 seed in my last NIT projections. I think that means they'll be safe to go, but I'll redo by NIT S-Curve tonight

Yea... You're right. I guess I'm a conspiracy theorist figuring they'd get the invite out of "respect", not out of merit.

No NIT for UNC means no post-season this year. I see absolutely NO WAY they go to the CBI or CIT.

UNC fans were so disgusted with this team that I heard they were selling their ACC Tournament session seats for $5 after their first round loss Wish I had found one of them. I paid $75.

TAS - I presume you are aware of the situation UIUC is in with their arena not being available to host a first round game in the NIT.

So they are gonna have to play on the road.

I would suspect the NIT would allow UIUC to control Game Management, hiring of officials, handle ticketing, etc as if they were at home. I think it would only be fair.

So where could you see them going? And do you think the NIT would give UIUC Game Management?

So you know where I am going with this.

UIUC would like to be "close" to home to get as many fans as possible to the game to help provide a friendlier atmosphere.

Do you think they could/would slide UIUC to the #2 seed, bump ISU to the #7 seed, let UIUC do Game Management in Normal. UIUC would then give ISU maybe 1000 tickets in the Upper sections on the corner or something, allowing UIUC fans and Orange Crush to dominate the seating.

I think it could be possible.

Or even this? How about a neutral floor like in Peoria? Tuesday night at Carver.

                            Thoughts?

Boy, I have no idea. They wouldn't send Illinois to an AQ....I have no idea how they'd handle it. Your proposal makes the most sense though.
