Yep...Les did a great job with that team...
My expectations were very low for that team...Crouch had a great bounce-back season and getting that team to the NIT was a truly remarkable accomplishment...

Agreed. We were arguably 2 regular season wins away from another at-large bid (Illinois in Chicago Challenge and Northern Iowa at home immediately come to mind). What a fun year that was.
      Onward and Upward!

The numbers don't support your assertion that Egolf is a "huge upgrade" over the production that Collins/Singh provided in his absence...you can certainly have that opinion if you'd like, but there aren't statistics there to back this opinion up...

Egolf is better than both Collins and Singh...I'm not disputing that...I just fail to see the 'huge upgrade' that you believe he provides...or would have provided last year...

        - Collins and Singh combined to average 9.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last year in 35.9 minutes/game.

        - Egolf and Singh combined to average 8.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game this year in 36.8 minutes/game.

That appears to be pretty similar production from the 5 spot year over year to me...
I think Egolf in the game allows the rest of the team to play better defensively and offensively.

i think it fair to say much like players, coaches have good and bad games, and some seasons they do a better job than others. they are not robots.

Perhaps...but if that were clearly the case, I would have expected a better season this year than 16-15...We had more experience and talent on this year's team, IMO, but a poorer end result. It happens...hopefully better things lie ahead for this program.

              The fact is....

for many games of the Sycamores season, even though we had Lathan he wasnt the same till the last game of the season...Also remember that when we had those three all out at the same time if we lost we lost nailbiters at the second best team in the conferences house and at creighton, (I mean really does anybody other than them play well there!)but impressively all these feats we accomplished with 8 players on the active roster...8 including an OT victory over Bradley, win against Drake and even almost (I know I said Almost) squeaking out a win in the bracketbuster on the road against a pretty good UWGB team, (Btw if you think our crowd is bad, you should see theirs lol)...K-mac has completely rebuilt this roster to make a run at the top seed next year in the MVC especially since we had 4 redshirts this year and Jake Odum could very well be the second coming of Michael "the man" Menser...

Hey - Syc fan -- that's a no-no...you cannot use injuries as an excuse...
never mind that injuries (& other issues) forced Bradley players (all but one of whom were starters at one point -Dodie, Jake, TB, Eddren, DSE) to miss a combined total of more than 50 games - --
and even though many, many other games, our guys were playing while NOT 100%, and sometimes playing while barely able to walk and in severe pain...

--then I am not sure how you'll ever get any credibility using injuries as any kind of excuse when your starters missed less than 40 games total (Kelly, Marshall, Lathan..)

                  Tornado,

Suck on one, make sure it's big long and furry, lol....No you took a sentence out of there and misconstrued it lol...It's not an excuse as much as it's an explanation of why McKenna deserved and got what he deserved because during the most important part of the year (MVC season), we were adjusting to having only 8 players and still managed to avoid the play-in game with still subpar talent...Don't hate Tornado...Appreciate!

syc..it's a little sarcasm aimed not at you but at those here in Bradley-land claiming BU's injuries did not contribute to a sub-par season...
My honest beliefs are precisely that your injuries can and did have a lot to do with your year, yet your team still impressed some with their resiliency...
So too regarding BU, and if we ever have an injury free year, maybe they'll stop griping......
