Creighton has also won 10 or more league games in 13 straight seasons under altman, a MVC record.

Despite the down season and the ending of the 12 straight 20 win season streak, that MVC streak is something special.

altman also won 6 conference tourney titles in st. louis in a 9 year span. that is pretty good.

That is a fine accomplishment...but you also have to know, that a lot of Creighton fans are ticked, grumbling, and unhappy because of their lack of any significant post season success...
Just like some of our fans, their fans dig out the things that Creighton HAS NOT DONE and moan and whine endlessly about it...
I guess unless your team wins it all every single year, you can always find SOMETHING to complain about......
Creighton lacks a whole lot of BU has in abundance!!
--lately - they can't win a game in the NCAA or even the NIT
--they can never seem to win the critical game
--They have never won a National Tournament, have NO NIT Championships, no NCAA Final Fours
--they are 9-17 in the NCAA tourney, and only 5-10 in the NIT (PLUS - FOUR of their NCAA wins were way back when the Regionals played consolation games after a team was already eliminated, and so are TWO of their NIT wins!)
--Dana is just 2-7 in NCAA and 3-5 in NIT (5-12 overall in post-season)
--they have NEVER won a game beyond the 2nd game of the NCAA Tourney, and have not advanced to play the NIT at Madison Square Garden in 68 years - longer than Mrcoachdude has been alive!!
--they are only 18-113 all-time against ranked teams - and haven't beaten a Top 10 team (0-21) since the Vietnam War...
--despite success in the MVC Tourney, they have only been the #1 seed once in the past 20 years, and 3 times in the past 30 years!

I guess they could still get to 20 wins if they get to the championship game of the CBI, CIT. I think that may diminish the awe-factor of the streak though, unless they beat a couple BCS teams.

The style that Creighton played in St. Louis will need to change if they get back to their winning ways.
However, drawing 16,000 fans per game is incentive (if Dana doesn't have enough) to get them back to a top 3 finish.

Here are my picks for Valley contenders next season:
              Wichita St.
              Missouri St.
              Creighton (without P'Allen)
              UNI (with Ben Jacobsen)
              BU (with a productive 5)
