Illini fans talk about Jim Les

Interesting rumors being posted on that board. The meeting between Les and the president and AD today should be very interesting, but I have not heard of any indication that his job is in danger. But I think we all agree that next year is the year we all hope will be very good.

Hahaha wow I'm in shock of their ignorance. Why even pretend to talk about something you obviously have no knowledge on at all? 90% of everything there is either completely wrong, doesn't make sense, or is just overall ignorant. It is hilarious they consider themselves knowledgeable. There are a couple knowledgeable posts, but beyond that not much.

I am staggered by the ignorance of those posters and their belief that they think they know what they are talking about! Everything stated there is laughably wrong.
Caterpillar does support the university in a number of ways, but has never had any significant involvement in the Athletic programs at BU. And they certainly never had any say whatsoever about the coaching selection.
Wayne McClain would not be considered for the head coaching job at Bradley. Period.
And the statement about Peoria always being a basketball talent hotbed, is not so true recently, either. Not since Shaun Livingston and the Manual players of the mid-late 90's has there been an abundance of D1 talent from Peoria. In recent years, there have been only a few D1 talents.
How many D1 players have there been from Manual since Frank Williams graduated in 1998?
In recent years-
Richwood had Bill Cole a few years ago, and Justin Dehm. Anyone else?
Woodruff- can't think of any other than Rodney Edgerson, who was at Washington State briefly, but hardly ever played. He finished his career at D2.
Central- help me out- have there been any D1 players from Central since Coach Buescher left? D.J. Richardson was from Central, but left and graduated from a prep school in Las Vegas.

..only time this year I actually heard someone (obviously only a casual fan of either) say that Bradley should fire heir head coach, started that statement, "both the Illini and Bradley should fire their coaches."
There is a bit of dynasty complex around here (Bulls, Manual, Central....) Not that I'd mind starting a BU dynasty...

Outside of people saying CAT was the deciding factor in hiring JL I don't see how much of what was said was ignorant. I think there are quite a few posters on here who also believe BU should be a constant threat in the MVC, and I have seen many people say think JL is on the hot seat after this season. Not saying I agree with most of their opinions, but they're not being ignorant."How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it." - Jim Valvano

Had to take a double take on who wrote this response!

For the most part they were very respectful of BU and Peoria basketball and said some nice things. They also said alot of other things I agree with. It's always interesting to see what other fans have to say, even if it isn't what you want to hear.
