so which Valley teams started fewer seniors than we did??

Don't know if that question was directed at me or not, but are you saying it requires seniors to win the league? UNI started none last year and won the regular season crown and conference tournament.

This tidbit is courtesy of a poster on another board -

Going into the season Bradley returned 75% of their scoring from last season. (this did not include Andrew Warren, it did include Dodie Dunson)

UNI returned 92% of their scoring

      Indiana State returned 87%

Shockers and Jays both returned 69%

      Mo State 58%

      SIU 58%

      Illinois State 51%

      Drake 47%

I am just curious as to why our 'youth and inexperience' wasn't talked about more in the preseason and really throughout the season if it's so glaringly obvious. It was only very recently where this suddenly became such a crutch when things went poorly. Is everyone else - including Sam Maniscalco and Andrew Warren - that cited our experience as something that should play to our advantage stupid?

        Jim Les Haters...wow.

        ANYONE here HATE JL?

I know I don't. I hate 5th or worse place every year...I hate no Valley or tourney Championships....I hate the 2:30 game every year in St louis.......I hate losing doble digit leads at home 5-6 games.....I hate ONE NCAA appearance in eight years, I hate the CBI/CIT vs NCAA or even NIT......

Hate JL absolutley not. I like JL alot. I like his hard work, dedication, love for Bradley, etc.,.....

        Anyone...HATE JIm Les?

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but if you don't believe there are a few people who hate JL intensely, then we live in completely different realities.

For the record, nobody is labelling you a "hater", and I have never included you in that list. But there are innumerable examples of the haters attacking JL personally, calling him names, including the always-cute intentional misspelling of his last name or the insulting, condescending references to "Jimmy boy", distorting the truth immensely, and fabricating things about him. Most of that irrational garbage isn't going to be found here, but it is plentiful on the BradleyHaters board.

i dont know of anyone who hates jl. also know he is smart enough to realize that being a public figure like bill self, bruce weber, etc. there are always going to be a few fans who are not happy with him or his production as the head of the program.that is part the downside of being the highest paid employee at bradley. no one is immune. to think otherwise is not livivng in the real world, imo.

I think more people have given up on Les than hate him. I enjoy going to all the home games and a variety of away games, but it is like pulling teeth to get friends to go now. Judging by how few people were in St. Louis, it's not just my friends.

Who are the real haters here? On this board recently we hear ripping on fans, condescension towards those who sit in the upper bowl, and comments on how no one would ever want to come to coach or play in piddly-ole Peoria at lowly little Bradley. I think our fans are great, our community is great, and our school is great. Our basketball program has been great in the past, I think it can be great again, and I think we have a lot to offer. I read a lot of the opposite from some of the most prevalent posters on here. So again I ask, who are the real haters?

BradleyBrave, I usually respect your opinions. But this one is quite a stretch.
To take a few random opinions by fans that do not attack anyone specific, and compare them to the vitriolic hatred constantly directed toward JL and the Bradley program is ridiculous. If anyone needs examples of this negativism and hatred, let me know, but it is undeniable that there are a few people who have this irrational disdain for JL.
The only hatred I see is on the side of the BU-haters and the Jim Les-haters, who love to wallow in misery, and see nothing positive about the BU program.

You may be right, boo t. I like Jim and think he has done good things for BU. I am just on where he/team is now and am willing to go one more year. As for getting people to games, winning is the biggest way to get butts in the seats. Second, is the atmosphere and making it fun for fans to enjoy! I think this has become a problem! First the before game activities are nothing, to just boring! They have divided the fans into groups and little boring pregame parties by the amount of $ you give instead of one big pre game for all fans I have been a Braves Club member for over 25 years and when they divided it into the little club for $'s and dropped the Bennie's for some, what did they aspect. Those 4 pre game parties the Braves Club puts on are so boring, I don't even stop by for the beer Once your at your seats anything that goes on is so routine that most of the old gray hairs are talked out and fall asleep and have to be woke up by the ushers so they can be told the games over and it's time to go home I'm a grayhairer so don't even call me a gher hater At half time during most of the games you could throw a bowling ball down the concession halls and good chance not hit anyone As for the mid and young ages there is nothing for them besides the game. The biggest thrill for a kid is to catch a T-shirt and thats nothing because they are giving them away before most game's. The half time shows has all but disappeared I went to St. Louis and support the team but I to have become bored with the same old game routines Theres a real need to bring the fan base back to one and mix up the activities and add some life back into BU BB games.
So in all I do not blame the lost of fan interest totally on JL and the team I like dog am just tried of those inflated attendees #'s

Wow, OOB, in one post you slammed Jim Les, BU fans, gray hairs, the Braves Club, the BU administration, the Civic Center people who report the attendance, and the marketing people. According to BradleyBrave you are a hater!

But DC...do they post here? I don't believe so. Even on the PJ star board their are several posters like SRW, Braves12, Squirrel, Imnotfanenough, tribecalledquest etc., that are outspoken about what THEY feel is a BU program that is heading in the wrong direction but I know for a FACT that not a single one of them HATES JL.

The regulars here like bradleybrave, St louis brave...myself just want an open honest exchange of opinions but everytime the word "hater" comes up, at least for me, I feel like its directed at me.

Pesonally I know of nobody that HATES JL. I'm sure they are out there but I just don't here them. I think theres a strong difference between being unhappy with JL and the program and outright HATE for the guy. Thats the distinction that needs to be made.

If there ARE guys that post that are simply JL haters I'm confident they get deleted...I gues MY point is WHY give them the time of day or talk abou them. The regulars on here may be on opposite ends of personal opinions about JL and BU but why recognize or mention that 1% that we never even really here from?

This whole state of affairs has become sad. I would not call it hate. Judging by attendance figures and attendance in St. Louis (I was there), I would call it apathy. Our fanbase is growing apathetic. Apathy is a terrible thing.
well=put.imo hate is too strong or inapporiate term to use. seems a bit melodramatic....seems like a political tactic.if you dont like the message or their opinion attack the messanger by labeling them a hater. people can want a coaching change without hating a coach. to think otherwise is really just silly. this isnt grade school basketball. coach les is a big boy. he understands that fans get disgruntled if their team doesn't win.simple as that. why make more of it than what it is.

The only thing I hate is where this program looks to be headed! We have major issues and it has nothing to do with personal feelings about Les, his hiring, etc. I may hate some of his in-game decisions (playing Singh all the time, no minutes for AT or milos, etc), but I don't hate Les and want him to do well

I contend that it is essentially impossible for you to KNOW this...all you might know is what your conclusions are about what they've said..
but some people (and from your statements, I guess then you'd be surprised at whom) have PM'ed me with pretty clear-cut statements
defining that they do have incredibly strong and hateful feeling toward BU and JL, so I guess it's all in what we use as our evidence...
