No, the only people who "don't buy it" are the same handful of constantly negative people who parse every word from Jim Les and try to make something negative out of it.
It really is silly that you and a few others can't take anything at face value but have to try to twist it around and try to prove to yourself that the coach is lying or spinning. I think most people see and understand exactly what Jim Les was saying, and don't have any problem with it. OTOH, Coach Les could say we intend to play with 5 players on the court and you would try to make that into some kind of deception and lie.

Wow....3 post removals in one day...

Apparently I am on a real roll considering I haven't said anything not factual...

Then again, what do I know....apparently I am no expert....certainly not like you

Is Andrew Warren spinning? Here's a quote from him after the win at Drake -

???We??™ve struggled this year when teams make runs on us,??? Warren said. ???We have the experience to establish ourselves and tonight we did. I hadn??™t done much up to that point and being one of the leaders on this team, it was time to step up.???

So, are Sam and Andrew both wrong?

I guess anyone who disagrees with your opinion must be wrong.

Except Coach Les, and in his case, to some people, he is always wrong.

I just take that as him believing something one game, yet not buying in during many others...

Saying it is one thing, but actually doing something about it another...

            Just like your signature there....

            Where are they?!

I am not sure where anyone said Les is out and out wrong...

My point is, I just don't understand how you can not get better assistants than what we have...

As stated previously, we have a #1 who couldn't even go .500 himself in HS ball, a #2 who was supposed to be a great recruiter yet has only really landed C-Rob, a #3 who I have no clue how he got on the staff because he couldn't get that gig anywhere but Bradley, and a #4 that just started midseason, but should head to Pekin where they could really use a refresher.

You're telling me that BU couldn't get someone to recruit Chicago and another to coach the D...?!

Are they really low-balling their assistants financially THAT much?!

I would not put myself in the "constantly negative" category, but UNI won the Valley last year (2008-2009) with Moran (FR), Ahelegbe (So), Eglesder (Jr), Farokhmanesh (Jr), Koch (Jr) and O'Rear (So) on the team. This year I thought we had the talent to be a top-three team, despite what the pre-season polls said.

Getting blown out by isu on the road and losing to them at home really hurts. IMHO that alone means that there has to be an evaluation of the program and its direction. I love the Braves but that along with some other home losses was very frustrating.

I believe that Les has the ability to turn it around, and with Maniscalco, Warren and Dunson as seniors, TB and Egolf as juniors, plus DSE contributing, that enough should have us contending for a title. Add a true 5 and BU could be VERY dangerous.

Come on. There are several threads going simultaneously here and on other boards with a handful of avowed Jim Les-haters parsing statements and actions of JL to try to make their usual case that the coach is lying, spinning, or incompetetant. It does get old.

By the way, despite claims by some who claim to know, Jim Les' job was never in jeopardy this year, and he has not been told he must win the MVC next year or he's gone. Those are a couple more fables fabricated by the haters, too.

maybe but that doesn't change how factual it is and I have frequently been the only one believing things in my lifetime, and since sufficiently enough of those times I have been the only correct one, then I doubt I will disbelieve a clear fact just because someone else doesn't want to...
Again...we heard endlessly about how youthful Wichita was and how they are a pick to be good again next year since they have so much back...
yet as I soundly pointed out, we have MORE back and our starters down the stretch were even LESS experienced than Wichita's...

I am sure you are right again. It's the best players we've ever had, no one will ever want to come to Peoria to play or coach, Northern Iowa has an unfair advantage in being able to recruit upper Iowa/southern Minnesota with no competition, and BU is a bunch of spring chickens who can't be expected to compete at the league's highest level. With all these things being true as you say, I can't believe you're not more upset at BU not continuing this great season. I mean, don't our spring chickens need more experience?

have I asked you to conform your opinion to mine....I think not, but odd how I catch heck all the time for daring to hold onto my own opinion!!
Anyway, in my line of work even one mistake out every 100 decisions/conclusions can be fatal, so I tend to believe a fact when it is a fact....

No...you more or less said you're always right, and that I am wrong. Passionate discussions are what make this board great; it just seems like some people are more willing to accept or consider other points of view than other people.

And misdiagnoses happen all the time...

hmm...I don't ever recall saying you were wrong, let alone always wrong...can you help me out and show me something that I missed??
each of my recent posts talk more about me and how I choose to believe what's factual, and I can't find any reference to you and your correctness...

If I misinterpreted that I sincerely apologize. I believe what is factual also, and also what the people actually involved say. What I posted speaks for itself. Whether people want to believe it is up to them.

..but they aren't were never a Top 25 team no matter how many of those who vote in the polls stupidly thought so..
Obviously those wins over Oregon and UCLA that had the national gurus drooling, have since been exposed and worthless!
Top 25 no, but they are a pretty good team. I play ball with a few former USF players who played against those Portland guys and they have told me that they are all pretty good ballers. Also the West Coast Conference had a better year then the MVC this year between the Portland wins early, Gonzaga being Gonzaga and St. Mary's winning the conference tournament they truly deserved the 2 teams that got into the dance. Let's just stop bashing all the other teams and conferences for who knows what reason and give props to those that deserve it. I'm getting tired of the JL/BU bashing and bashing of teams that did well for the sake of bashing. ISU red bashing though is always fine, an exception to the rule!
