  • No postseason?

It seems after listening to JL on the postgame that there isn't going to be a post season for BU this year. I know he didn't say "no", but he certainly didn't say they'd accept a bid if granted one.

I'm not sure if in 8 days any of the other post sason tourneys will be calling, but, after listening to the coach it doesn't seem like they are looking forward to something. With an RPI of 100 heading into today's game (it shouldn't go down after the loss) and possibly going to 110 by the end of next week, do you think BU will end up with a bid to some post season? I know I'd still like to see them play a few more times. And heck, only four more wins to get to 20
Why is it that since the end of the 2006 season it's been a coin toss to know which team will show up?

They'll probably be invited to one. They have a good enough resume for that. Whether they accept, or whether they should, is another matter.

Bradley has actually moved up to #99 in the RPI as of 11:20 pm tonight according to Jerry Palm at collegerpi.com.

Last year, Bradley dropped to #99 after losing to UNI in the Semi's and then finished #98. A pretty similar profile.

They'll get a call this week or next weekend.

I hope they press the ignore button......

Pass on the postseason and get focused on finding a big JC player that can defend, rebound and score around the basket.

Personally, I would prefer Bradley to not play in the CBI or CIT. They have not seemed to payoff as far as player development. Plus, this year they had extra games already with the Brazil trip. Nothing seemed to come of it.

While I would watch if they did play in one....I think it may be better to put this season of ups and downs behind us and focus on the recruiting trail.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

I think I half-heartedly agree with you that post-season tournaments really don't contribute toward the development of a player significantly. Mediocre players don't become good because they play against Fordham or whoever, in a CBI tourny...Development is a long arduous process and maybe playing in a major tourny would be a positive...but these tertiary tourny's are kind of humbling frankly.

What player development? The last two tournaments it's been an attempt to up our win total, not get experience for players next year.

I agree, we have proven that reaching the championships of the CBI and CIT did not make us any better than we finished the prervious year.

Playing in Brazil did not make us any better than we were last year.

Those tourneys have allowed our seniors to play more games, which is nice for them. I feel bad for CR ending like this, but do we really want SS to abuse his knee more? Would it be better to let SM rest his foot more?

I would rather the coaching staff use this time to recruit bigs. That's about the only thing that will make us better next year.

Agreed. If we get an offer for one of the lesser tournaments... the new AD must get a guarantee from JL, before giving approval, that he will play AT, MK, DSE, and JE the most time. Like you said, what's the purpose of a lesser tournament if these guys (AT & MK) don't play and get experience. I'm unhappy that they both did not see more time this year on a .500 team. If we do play in one, start - 1. DSE, 2. JE, 3. MK, 4. TB, 5. AT.

completely agree here. If we do play in one of these tourneys, MK and AT better see significant minutes

If a post season tournament this year for BU can make money for BU's athletic department, go ahead and play in it. If BU plays well, can't hurt recruiting and additional media exposure for BU and MVC.

I for the most part wouldn't mind bradley playing in a tournament but truth be told this team is beaten up and players are hurt. I agree with that lineup but TB is hurt now also so he should have limited time as well. SM is hurt and needs to rest. Those two don't need any more games under their belts..they've proven they can play. Instead of TB at the 4 it would be nice to at least TRY WE at the 4 with AT @ 5

                              No Postseason

OUR SEASON IS OVER! Our coaches should establish with the team at the beginning of the season that our goal is to play our way into the NCAA or NIT. If we don't get in these, it's over.

Our coaches can better use this important time to recruit and locate and sign a truly good BIG man. Preparing for and playing in a meaningless tournament will cut down on this valuable time significantly.

Players can concentrate on the books and sharpen skills in the gym.

The University and the Athletic Department should not surrender to greed and enter these tournaments for the $$$.

Again, our SEASON IS OVER----MOVE ON!!
