If we have any pride at all we would say, thankls, but no thanks.
I NEVER said that would make it a great season. Thanks for somehow putting words in my mouth though!

I don't think any player or coach is accepting it, nor are the fans. All 3 parties are disappointed about the season. This isn't what we want, but it is certainly better than nothing at all. If you have the opportunity to play and gain experience there is no reason not to, it will improve players more than doing nothing this month.

But I think that is a mistake to think this is where anybody involved wants us to be. Past that, why not do it just to play, gain experience, and keep me entertained for one more month??? It won't make this season much better, it might not help next year either, but what can it hurt?

            I got an idea...

Let's sit at home and watch Creighton win a Tournament we turn down. You know... the same Creighton team we just beat on a neutral floor.

            Yea - that's a good idea.

              Pride is a deadly sin...

I am by no means happy with a .com tourney, but it brings in money, gives Chris and Sam a going away party, keeps our name out there, and gives our guys more experience. We're likely going to have 2-3 new players next year, which is not many, so why not view it like the Brazil trip was this pre-season?

So could exhibition games, or trips to Brazil, and they leave much less time to recover, so should we not do those?

I'm just saying something could happen, its not a risk free venture. My main reason for being against a post season tourney this year is that we do not deserve it. Post season play is a reward for a good season, and should not be pursued for mediocre seasons like the one we've had.

Really though I am not a fan of the preseason trips either since the freshman cannot go, you do not get to play with your whole team, and its just a risk for an injury.

Everyone plays exhibition games and they are an acceptable risk for what little insights you can gain into the preparedness of your team for the season.

Maybe I'm a hypocrite because I wouldn't be there to watch, but why wouldn't a Bradley fan want to see the Braves play as many games as possible.

Extended Season and who out coached who?

An extended season? - Sure, why not, it gives us a chance to play teams from other regions and conferences that we can't seem to get on our schedule otherwise! I've enjoyed the two previous post season opportunities to see other school's talent and coaching. Makes me feel that our program and coaching are about status quo with the rest of the rest - not as good as we'd like to be but not as bad as many think!

As to who outcoached who on friday - I'd say you know when two teams play each other as often as BU and CU do you're bound to win one big once in a while! So maybe Dana made a mistake on friday and Jim recognized it and we benefited from it but otherwise I would think Dana is the better coach - when Jim gets his valley reg season and tourney cumulative records up over 50% I'll admit he's coming and when he get's to Dana's stats I'll say he's out coaching the league - hopefully Jim get's enough time and games to get to that lofty level!

                        Go Braves!

The more games we play the better it is for our returning players especially our freshman , I would not guarantee money to get into one because with the economy the way it is and all the people that are gone to Florida or Arizona it will be very hard to sell 5000 tickets .

I'll take a guess at this..........because the Bears game is on television?
