I remember reading the quote from Fay saying Bradley and SIU were even in his mind and it came down to facilities at Bradley versus the facilities at SIU making his choice for him.
I would say you are "misremembering". Have you seen the facilities at SIU? Have you been to SIU Arena? Those facilties aren't any better than what Bradley was/is throwing out there.

Besides, I never heard that with Fay. With Courtney Lee--Dave Snell mentioned it all the time. But acting like he was coming to Bradley IF there were better facilities seems like quite a stretch. It's a very good excuse, grant you, but no one knows either way.

Again, I ask--please find a school whose recruiting and stature in the world of college basketball improved once they got the new facilities. It's a thing people talk about, but hasn't proven to be true.

Ben Hansbrough left Miss. St. and specifically cited the facilities as the only reason.

"His primary complaint was the lack of a practice facility on campus. Since Humphrey Coliseum is often off-limits to the players at the start of the off-season, Hansbrough said he felt his needs would be met better at another school.

"That has a lot to do with it right there, just that simple stuff right there," he said. "As simple as that may sound, that's a huge thing for me."

Welcome to the board littlebish. You've been on the board less than a week and have only 2 posts that I'd consider pro-BU -- 6%. The rest are just ?????????

        What's your "agenda" novello?

Nah, I was just kidding. As I recall Chet Walker was on his way to enroll at Michigan State when the Bradley assistant coaches kidnapped him, but I never held that against Chet.

littlebishforpres wow, stop while you are ahead. You would be better off again coming in this site as another name at this point. As I said earlier if you want to slam the program please come in here with some real facts. Where are your facts?

I'm gonna play the "new facilities obviously help because the players can train better and therefore play better" card

Facilities may not be a reason to go to a school.. but there are certainly a reason many student athletes choose not to go to a school. Look at Missouri and its football recruiting. The coaches there will tell you how much easier a sell it is with their new weight room complex. And they will tell you in the past some kids took at look at the old complex and turned and walked away.

I now feel confident after today's results saying there will be seven Big 12 teams in the NCAA tourney and MAYBE eight Big East teams. IMO, Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, Nova, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette and MAYBE Notre Dame are in. Uconn, Seton Hall, Cincy and South Florida are out as of today, but have a chance to make noise in the Big East tourney to get back in. In the Big 12, there are seven teams with a winning conference records, all have over 20 wins and all are in the top 35 of the RPI.

Does this mean the Big 12 is better? No. But it does show the strength of the league when over half the league makes the NCAA tourney.

Have facilities affected our current team and coach?

I certainly hope I'm not reading that you all think our lack of quality facilites has produced a sub standard team and coaching staff? I would suggest we all chill out and let the new facilities come into play and see what happens! I've never seen a new hoop, ball, shoes, court or uniform produce a champion - but then again they never hurt either!

Indiana hosted a kid who was on his official visit at their game yesterday named Will Yeguette, an incredibly athletic 6-7 forward from Florida...and many articles about the kid now say he's their #1 target and that IU is in the lead for the kid...
Surely if they land him they would NOT be able to use another raw forward...so I'd have to think Wilkins would be out of the picture there...

....although the Indy Star guy says Wilkins might still come for a visit...but I think he got his info from BradleyFans..

I am willing to bet that JL gets some of his game plan from our opinions on this board

                                I think we are knowledgeable!

We should turn our program into a democracy. Polls for starters and everything else (substitution patterns, defenses)

JL will be a figure head. Actively reading a real time computer screen from the bench to adjust to changes in the game.
