Here is the All-Bench Team (selected by beat writers)-

These specialty awards, voted by the beat writers, aren't as important as the other awards, so maybe we shouldn't bother looking critically at them.
But, what the heck is Anthony Booker doing on the All-Bench team?
Haven't the sportswriters been paying attention? Booker's playing time has dwindled lately, and his production has been poor. He hasn't scored in double digits in a month. His averages have fallen to 6.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg, and SIU dropped to 9th place in the MVC. There are even other bench players for SIU who are getting more playing time and producing more than Booker, and there are many other bench players around the league that IMO are more deserving of being on the All-Bench Team.

Congrats Taylor, but I really have a hard time giving the top award (captain) to a Soph. that played sparingly last year...
I really feel that should be a 4-yr award (ie Senior), and I honestly would have given it to Templeton.
And forget about Booker for a second, what is Gabe Blair doing there too?!

Carter impressed me in both game that we played you...and from what I had seen previously, I would definitely file him onto the most improved list ahead of guys like Dinma & Booker who were already starters anyway..........
BTW - Booker avg. 6 ppg and hits 50% on FT....
not convinced he is a whole lot better than last year

The funny thing is that TB has the tools to raise his game to the next level. IMO the most improved award should be a sign that he did not play the season consistent enough to be on the all Valley team. I hope he takes this as a challenge."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
