My source is my cousin who is an acquaintance of OE as they are both from the same area of Chicago and he went to ISU.

He claims OE is quiet, humble, and personable.

    What have you heard otherwise?

Taylor Brown? AT, if he actually played well enough to ever be given accolades?

Everyone thinks all the good kids are in their program. Many of you bashed Egleseder for getting suspended for three games. How many games did TB end up missing? But that prolly didnt reflect his postseason awards. It is what it is all I know is i have enjoyed many of Osiris' highlight dunks and entertainment. If GROWN MEN want more out of KIDS then to bad. Osiris has no ability according to most but will make more money with his lack of ability then most of you will ever see.
Don't forget that Ruffin should have missed many more games...and was blessed here. If Osiris would have been in Rufs should this board would have been all over him...not supporting him.

I am sitting here reading all this hate regarding Osiris Eldridge and wondering am I missing something about this guy. Every time Ive seen him play he plays hard and does not come off as mouthy, he wore a mohawk but that is questionable appearance. But he is a straight up athlete and a very good overall basketball player.

So, I decided to look at his numbers for his last 4 years of playing basketball at ISU.

          620-1505 - 41% from the field
          289-354 - 75% from the line
          272-741 - 36.7% from 3pt
          667 rebounds - 5 per game
          172 steals - 1.3 per game
          1801 points - 13.8 per game

I will guarantee you if he was wearing a Bradley uniform a lot of Bradley fans would be hailing Osiris Eldridge as one of the best of all time to play at Bradley. Other then the field goal % his numbers are bigtime solid. Anyone who says they would not have welcomed that type of production for 4 years is well... lets just say his numbers speak for themselves.

And yes his teams have not won a Valley tourney or been to the NCAA, but honestly the NCAA part is not his fault his teams have had good enough records but his coach/AD have decided it was in THEIR best interest to schedule down. Maybe the scheduling down has inflated his numbers slightly but even that being said his game and production would have been welcome in Peoria.

OE got 1st team by NAME alone - not by numbers.

He was on the Par-A-Dice after the Bradley victory. Is that how he's going to make his millions?

More money then most of us...... Please!

Oh lord if Aba Koita can get someone to pay him to play basketball I guarantee you someone will pay Osiris Eldridge to play and likely very well. How he spends that money thats up to him but he will get paid to play the game.

The difference is that if Aba Koita was a US born American citizen, he would likely not have had a chance to play overseas for money.
The Euro teams have limits on how many Americans they can have, but no limit with citizens of other countries. Because he was a French citizen, Aba will always be able to play for money in France, and other European countries.
Remember that the only recent 2-time POY Darren Brooks was released by multiple teams in the lower levels in Europe. He wasn't good enough. Is OE?

So tell me what has Osiris ever won? How may NCAA games has he taken ISU to? I don't care about no "almosts".

I just read that ISU was 2 & 3 in the 1st team votes. So my question earlier gets narrowed. If you have 2 of the best 3 players in the league.... how do you finish 3rd in the Valley? NICE coaching job!

I've never seen on court behavior out of OE that indicated an attitude problem. He's been a bit disappointing in his senior year but I would have LOVED to have him as a brave. P'allen otoh... No thanks

Fine then I guess Koita was not a good example since he is French, even though it is still incredible someone in France would give him money to play basketball.

How about then Ill spin the dial and say James Gillingham, David Collins, Ed Cage. And yes OE is more then good enough to get paid to play. It would not surprise me in the least that he plays NBDL.

Cooksey or whoever....before you rip on a Bradley fan for not worshipping King O,
then explain to me why there's 10 times as much anti-Osiris sentiment over on your own Redbird board than there ever has been here...
I find it strange that so many people would post negatives about one of your best players ever....one guy was even anxious to see him graduate and be gone because he was so selfish it was ruining the rest of the team!!

in other words....there's a whole lot of ISU fans who have finally concluded that Osiris does indeed have enough negatives to offset some or most of his positives...

We have our whiners here too, but I can't recall ever seeing or hearing someone trash Hersey or AP at the end of their careers!

IMO, Osiris Eldridge = Phil Gilbert without a conscience.

In fact, PG's shooting percentages were better, and the following comparison suggests Gilbert may have been the better player.

Here are the numbers just for their senior seasons, and recall that Phillip Gilbert missed 10 games, and played his senior with a broken foot! He also played on a team with 2 other players who averaged more than 15 ppg (Sommerville and Gillingham).
In addition, Osiris Eldridge's stats this season are greatly inflated by playing such a weak non-conference schedule.

2009-10-Osiris Eldridge...33 minutes per game, 15.9 ppg (lead MVC), 4.0 rpg, 41.5% FG, 35.4% three point, 81% free throws, 2.5 apg, 1.3 steals per game.
Note that his numbers for MVC Conference games-only are much worse- 13.7 ppg (7th in the MVC) and 31.5% three point shooting percentage.

2003-04-Phil Gilbert.......32 minutes per game, 16.0 ppg (lead MVC), 3.4 rpg, 41.8% FG, 37.4% three point, 83.5% free throws, 1.6 apg, 0.8 steals per game.

Also, in his 4 seasons, Phil Gilbert lead Bradley to just as many MVC League titles, and MVC Tournament titles as Osiris Eldridge lead ISU to, and Gilbert played in just as many NCAA tournaments as Eldridge.
By comparison, Gilbert was every good an MVC player as OE, maybe better.

Forget the Maniscalco and DSE references for a minute...

                              I have an issue...

How come no one has talked about Chris Roberts not making the All-Defensive team
