BTW, Osiris's team has finished in the top 3 of the MVC 3 years in a row, and have been to 2 straight title games. His overall record for his career is 85-45, 41-31 in league play, and 4-3 in MVC Tournament play. I'd say he's won quite a bit in his career. More than anyone on our team by a wide margin....
Come on....when the critics take their shots at Bradley and Jim Les, it's always about "how many titles has he won?", or "1st place is all that counts", or "we don't care about NIT, CBI, CIT, or any other eieio tournaments"

So tell me what has Osiris ever won? How may NCAA games has he taken ISU to? I don't care about no "almosts".

Sam shot 50% from the field and for every ball his lost, he created 4 points for his team and Sam outscored OE by about half a point. OE did have a rebound over Sam a game, and at the end of the day, OE is no better guarding a 2-guard than Sam is guarding a PG. I guess all that chest beating, trash talking, and shot chucking got OE somewhere... but he has yet to be the best player on his own team.
All this incoherent rambling has what exactly to do with OE's defense?

Your bitter disappointment and hatred for OE is rather disturbing-but hey whatever gets you through. Your criticism's of his "chest beating, trash talking, shot chucking" not only are off base entirely but they sound rather childish. Plus.......they couldn't be further from the truth.

Perhaps that's why amc and a few other have such a hard-** for OE and dislike him so immensely. Bitter is the only word that comes to mind.

          Twice he's been pre-season POY.

In 4 years he's been named Freshman of the Year, 3 times he's been named 1st-Team All MVC and twice All-MVC Defense. What a horrible career he's had. Who is the last player from the "Hilltop" that approached these milestones. I ask not as a smart aleck because I really don't recall. Parker?

Now DC, I have to accuse you as being the one making it a Jim Les conversation. It wasn't previously. And you know as well as I do wins and titles count for coaches more than players. Players don't get fired for not winning titles.

I haven't heard too many people say the NIT's don't count. They're no NCAA's, but I think we can all agree that it's a level above the CBI or CIT in prestige, quality, and tradition. I also think a lot of people who complained about the previous regime going to too many NIT's perhaps realize now that wasn't so bad after all. We have a rich history with the NIT, and it's still a respected tournament. Let's not belittle it.

But I digress. amckillip said Osiris didn't help his team win. I merely pointed out that teams he played on won quite a bit, and he was an integral, if not a primary reason they were so successful.

I would say that any of those teams would have been more successful had they had, SM, AW, TB, TW, DR, JC, WF, Boogie or many of the other players we've had who haven't been as highly touted as OE...

And I could say pigs can fly. We'd both be wrong.

Those milestones? I'm not sure, but we did have a lottery pick a few years back... If we're only going on individual non-subjective accomplishments. I respect you guys for liking OE and supporting your players, but trust me, my comments about OE are in no way jealousy, I am much happier King O is wearing an ILSU jersey as opposed to representing BU.

Except I could prove you wrong, it would be impossible for you to do the same, and many would argue on my side in this one...

Let's agree that OE is a tremendous talent who had a good career that should have been great. He helped ISU become a good team that should have made the NCAA 2 years during O's tenure had he lived up to his extraordinary preseason hype. I still think he wasted an opportunity to be an ISU and MVC legend. P'Allen? He never showed anyone anything. He was just a BIG FAT FLOP!

Since you brought up the comparison, Osiris can only hope to have a fraction of the successful career that Anthony Parker had.
Parker was POY in the MVC as a junior, and was preseason POY his senior year, and would easily have won the award again if he had not broken his foot.
Parker also lead Bradley to NCAA as a junior, and the NIT as a senior. His 1st round NBA draft pick, and multiple Player of the Year awards in the Euroleague, and MVP of the Euroleague Final Four, as well as his long pro and NBA careers have earned him many millions of dollars. I think he'll add an NBA title to his credentials this year, too.

As far as players since AP, I would say that Darren Brooks' back to back Player of the Year awards, All-Defensive team awards, as well as his multiple NCAA appearances is far more impressive than the unfulfilled hype of OE's career.

POB was the Defensive POY in 2006. Being a lottery pick has no relevance whatsoever in this discussion.

Had Osiris chosen BU instead of ISU you'd be fawning all over him.

I agree with these statements. AP was a special player. Brooks was as solid as they come.

Yeah! Can you imagine OE and TB on the same team? It would be twitter wars to the extreme. Poor Les would not only be gray but he'd also be going bald from pulling his hair out.

Your wrong. Period. End of Discussion.

Go look up my record of opinion on Daniel Ruffin. BB, you have solid basketball insight, but do not tell me what I would or would not think. I would not have liked OE. And DCooksey asked the last time we had someone who approached OE's milestones I consider an NBA lottery pick to be a higher milestone. I'll decide whats relevant in my posts.

Sorry if I'm coming off aggressive but I'm tired of being told my thoughts.
