You know that is what both Snell and CB say nearly every game is how incredible a shooter that Milos is. And it is often inferred by Snell that he thinks Milos should be playing some minutes. It just would have made sense to have put in games occassionally to see if he could have made a shot or two.

Amazing how much making a basket could unlease a bit of that nervous play. I think it certaintly worked wonders for Eastman.

DSE on the other hand never one time looked intimidated. He is going to be a bigtime MVC player after his 4 years are done.

Good to hear that Milos may have a bigger role next season. From his body language on the bench, it seems he DOES understand that he won't play much this year, and displays a great attitude toward the team and other teammates.

I agree with that! Milos is one of the first off the bench, cheering a great play or giving high 5's at timeouts. Seems to understand his situation and has a good attitude about it.

          My impressions--

DSE- Very good freshman season. Needs to improve fts, outside shooting, and ballhandling. If he progresses in all three he'll be a very complete guard and could challenge for all-mvc honors. My expectation is that he fixes fts and ballhandling for next season with the outside shooting coming for his junior year (a la Ruffin).

JE- Jake's been a pleasant surprise as an all-around basketball player; and yet somewhat disappointing on long range shots. I'm ready to chock that up to focusing on strength and defense while on red shirt and assume that his outside shooting will be there and that he'll be a solid contributor at 2/3 next season. Like his hussle. Was nice that his breakout game vs the Jays included a 3 pointer.

Milos- very tantalizing early season. Seems like his D is in much need of improvement, and I'm not sure he'll ever rebound enough to help us at the 4. Looking forward to seeing how he does in his sophmore season.

JP- hope his redshirt year pays off because we need him. We don't get killed in the paint but our defensive shooting % on 2 point shoots is one of the worst in the country. If we'd have kept that at least average we'd have been a pretty good defensive team. Turns out size does matter and we need to have two legit bigs on the floor at all times. I'm conting on JP to give us 15 minutes a game. Hope it comes true.

Any more about JP other than he will work on strength conditioning this summer. Anyone know if he can shoot, run, jump, guard, rebound vs our current bigs in practice?

Chances of JP contributing next year - ?%

Is it more realistic he will need another year to get ready?

Or is this considered confidential so our opponents won't know?

My prospectus for next year: (subject to change before November )

              DSE - 20 mpg, 10 ppg, 38% 3-pt. shots, 70% free throws
              JE - 12 mpg, 6 ppg, 38% 3-pt. shots, 75% free throws
MK - 7 mpg, ??? on everything else

This is the best class I've seen here in a while I believe. They all already look like they have good potential and can contribute. As I said before DSE and JE are gona be a great backcourt someday.

With everyone we have next year I have no idea how JL is going to arrange the lineup or get everyone minutes even IF someone leaves. Maybe one of the freshman should redshirt next year? It is so exciting to think about it, I've already toyed with potential lineups in my head, but I'll save that for offseason threads. The following couple years look to be very good too! If everyone thing goes well and we get a servicable big the next few years could be very very special!!

DSE, JE, MK, and JP (from what I've heard on here) are all likable guys and all have a great basketball future for BU and I can't wait to watch it unfold!

JP can be the 5 we are looking for. He has the quickness, jumping ability, and passing ability. He can also finish around the rim. Hopefully he will take the weight room seriously and understand that bigger is better.

Remember that JE injured his shoulder last summer and had to take time off. I'm sure his strength, conditioning and shooting touch were nowhere near where it once was. All seem to be coming back now as he does seem to have more confidence in both his outside shot and free throws. I suspect we'll see the real Jake Eastman next year.

I think what separates this freshman class from others recently is their competitiveness - not sure if JP is like that yet. Seems kinda' reserved, but most guys are just sitting on the bench waiting for their time to shine.
I think that DSE and JE are desiring to be champions and have the willingness to work for it.

Maybe I was naive, but I though that no freshman would see much P.T. this season other than when BU put up big leads in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, we haven't had a lot of big leads, and when we have, we tend to blow them.
I think JE and DSE make the guys around them better with their attitude and effort.

Dyricus has been the star of the freshman class this season, although I didn't see it that way in the early part of the season. DSE just has that "something" at PG that makes him invaluable. If he further develops the jump shot that he has been showing of late, he will be a pain to the MVC and any non-con we play over the next three years.

With Jake, I don't know if he's not going to get out of the mix somewhere along the line. He does have a nose for the boards, but he seems to not be looking for his game offensively. Of course, I would like to see him at a 2 and not playing the 4 to see what he can really do.

Milos has been the biggest mistake that the coaching staff has made this season. He has the best jump shot on the team and when he's on, he is unstoppable. His size would be effective on the boards and, with time on the floor, his defense will come along. His lack of time off the bench this year has been one of the big errors that the coaching staff has made, especially during the MVC battle.

With Jordan, all we have are the hopes that his redshirt year will make him a significant force come next season.

I'm looking forward to the Green Hornet taking the floor.

I have a feeling that DSE will make a difference on Friday.
As SM and AW are eager to make up for their sub-par performances Sat., I'm pretty sure DSE wants to do the same.

I believe we will have to play a hard brand of D to win. If anyone says the reffs cannot make a difference in games I'm stating right now if the reffs start calling the game like a girls game we lose. I'm betting we will come out with a high defensive intensity that can only be crushed by a game being dictated by the zebras.
