  • What about our Freshmen?

I think that JE's solid game vs. CU on Saturday spurred me on to think about our freshmen and especially what JE and DSE bring to the team.

I truly hope that isn't the last we've seen from JE this season.

    Here's my take:

JE - plays with intensity and finds ways to get to the hoop. If he learns to finish the bunnies, he could be a better scorer.
Biggest improvement during season: not sure
Best weapon with improvement: Drive and dish

DSE - Another hard-nosed player with great basketball I-Q. Very skillful and very teachable. He is a winner and brings determination and will to win to the team.
Biggest improvement during season: igniting offense when team struggling
Best weapon with improvement: pull-up jumper from 10-15 feet - with his driving ability and hops, not many can stop this shot.

    I hope JE stays put.

I think we can say goodbye to EM!!

Agree on both points. I want/expect JE to be a 3 point assassin next year. An offseason of strength training and jumpshots and I think it will be a reality.

Why would EM leave? He has really good grades, was injured for part of the season and yes it will be hard for him to find quality minutes next year but not impossible. He is probably our best man on man defender and rebounds better then most. Unless you know something we do not I'd bet that he stays. Just call it a hunch.

Nothing is for certain, it's just speculation. He's been passed by DSE on the depth chart, and we have been recruiting other guards. We won't run him off, but he may look at the big picture and decide he has a better future closer to home. I am sure the staff would do all they could to help him if he decided to move on.

            Don't forget JP!

Can any of the insiders comment on how JP is progressing in practice, weight room, etc? How is his floor speed, quickness, jumping ability vs other bigs on the team?

Will he be ready next season to step in and compete for playing time?

He will need a GREAT summer of strength training.

What does that mean? Also how does he do in practice against our post players?

I am sure it means nothing hidden. JP, like all the Braves will be working hard on strengthening over the summer. Some of the players will probably also be going to individual camps to improve their skills.

Players all over America will be working hard this off season. Nothing new there. Jake Eastman is intriguing to me. I envisioned a one-deminsional, three point sniper.

He actually isn't nearly the shooter I thought he might be but he is better at other things. Im not complaining, just surprised at his skill set. I rememeber Jim Les and others comparing him to Jeremy Crouch. He isn't that type of player really. At least not yet.

I think he could be a JC-type, but it looks like he's lost all confidence in his jumper. Maybe in the long run that's a good thing, as it looks like other parts of his game are developing. But in the tapes I saw of him coming in, he did look like that shooter-type you referred to.

                        No mention of Milos.

The most ready in October/November. The most forgotten in Feb/March.

Haven't seen much of Milos this year - just 2 games I've seen him play in, and from my perspective, he's not too intimidated and brings intensity like the other freshmen have. Could he be our biggest surprise next year, like TB has been?
Has a nice outside shot - just amazed he doesn't see more P.T.
Wish we knew more about him.

Just like Eastman and DSE if Milos were given more minutes he would have grown and been more confident. We dont see his effort in practice, so who knows what his daily work ethic is like.

Strange to me he went and played somewhat decently at Iowa State then nothing. He did get a few minutes v Drexel and looked out of place and from what I saw he cant jump. But he was kinda like the rest of our team not very good at getting out and defending an open 3 pt shooter.

I just am curious if any "insider" gets any feedback on Milos?

Her is just a little behind the rotation that is playing. He knows that, and will play a bigger role next year. He is the best pure shooter on the team, and is not going anywhere.
