  • BU fans planning on going to St. Louis- rooms now available at BU team hotel

Until now, the hotel that the Bradley team was assigned in St. Louis, The Renaissance Grand Hotel, had been listed as "Sold Out". The hotel is hosting some kind of convention the same weekend as the MVC Tournament.

But we have learned that a few rooms that were being held back are now available. They are not being specifically held for Bradley fans, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are a Bradley fan and would prefer to stay at the team hotel, check your current reservations. If they are at another hotel, but are cancellable, you may want to consider switching here:

The Renaissance Grand Hotel, 800 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO

Enter the dates of Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010 on the right.

There are a limited number of rooms, and they do show a couple of discounted price deals.
Right now their standard room rate is listed at a whopping $299.00.
However, they have a $179.00 rate that includes a $25 voucher for a VISA gift card (up to $50 if you stay 2 nights). So the effective room rate is $154 per night.
They also have a $199.00 room rate that includes the same $25 or $50 VISA gift card, plus breakfast for 2 adults and children for each day you stay. Not a bad deal! They have a great restaurant, and their Sunday buffet has always been tremendous.

You could probably do better at other hotels, and with some of the online booking sites, but there may be advantages of staying at the team hotel. There are sometimes Bradley-organized events at the team hotel.

So the greed of the Renaissance caught up with them! Good! And what a joke of a rate. 4 star hotels in st louis are going for between 59-79 a night online. save your money, all team functions won't be at hotel other than getting on their bus. the only day it's worth it is sunday morning and we haven't done that for 4 years.

I agree as that hotel is way over priced and it is a hassle to get your car in and out, I originally was staying downtown but just got a better deal in Arnold which is only 20 minutes away but a great area to get something to eat at anytime of the night.

There are still plenty of affordable hotels in downtown STL this weekend. I would recommend Priceline. I have heard of people getting anywhere from $40-$75 a night at four star hotels. With the growing popularity in Lumiere Place as well as addition of new hotels with more options to stay at and attendance being a tad down, hotels are willing to get something rather than nothing for a room. Most of the hotels are pretty nice in the downtown area so its tough to be in a bad place.

I had posted this in another thread, but for anyone needing to book a room I booked two for Friday and Saturday night on priceline. My winning bid was for a 4* in downtown for $41 a night. Rooms are at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch.

Back in December, I called the Hyatt wanting to use Hyatt points to book my stay for this weekend. They said they were booked due to a convention. Obviously, there have been some cancellations or some rooms that were reserved have been released.

I love my job 95% of the time but this weekend is one of the reasons I don't. It's tough to get away for a weekend this time of year. At least FSMW carries the games and then CBS on Sunday so I can watch on the tube.

I hope everyone enjoys themselves and stays out of trouble--relatively speaking of course

I booked Saturday night. The key is there are only two areas of STL that have 4* hotels, downtown and one other, so you start low with downtown picked. If its not accepted keep adding the areas that don't have 4* hotels so you can bid again and raise your bid by $1
