  • Post-season for Valley teams

Which Valley teams do you think will make the N.I.T.? (provided they don't win Arch Madness)

What about the CBI? (if this is the 3rd and final post-season tourney)

    My thoughts...
    NIT -
    Wichita St. (lock)
    I.S.U. (red) (1 more win)
    Missouri St. (2 more wins)

    CBI -
    Indiana St. (lock)
    Creighton (1 more win)
    BU (1 more win)

Missouri St has a loooong way to go to get to the NIT.

I think if ISU finagles its way into a T-2 finish or better in Valley play, they're more or less assured of an NIT road game. WSU will end up in the NIT.

I expect the league to send its 4 and 5 (and maybe 6 and 7) to the CBI and CIT. Probably hosting. Creighton, if they were willing to host, would be a lock to. Ditto Bradley. InSU and MSU maybe home, maybe road. But the Valley will have heavy representation in these 2 tournaments if they so desire to play them.

I was a champion of the EIEIO tourneys LAST year becuase I saw it as a good way to improve.....don't know if I can use that same defense THIS year.

As a player I guess you always jump at the chance to play....and I SUPPOSE if my UNiversity decides to play....I'll be there...rather reluctantly I might add.

And If SENIOR nite against WSU can only put 8000-8300 rears in the seats EIEIO will be quite ugly. I could see 3000 for opening games.

Yeah, that's a possibility, though I am going to guess 4500 to 5000 for either of the "EIEIO" tourneys as you call it.

But if you think our arena is empty with only 4 or 5000 fans, how about the Qwest Center if Creighton ends up hosting in one of those tourneys? I'd be very curious as to how well they would draw for one of these!

Probably about as well as we do... As both fan bases are very disappointed in the lackluster underachieving season.

            Here's how I see it:
            NCAA: UNI, ?
            NIT-IL St(road), Wichita(host)
            CBI/CIT-BU,MSU,CU

Indiana st can't draw any fans and will be left out. It's too bad since they're having their best season in memory. It's so bad in terrible haute that they have made all the tickets free this weekend.

CU has been spoiled compared to us so I'd suspect even less. CU fans are totally upset and I expect those that head to St Louis to see less of them.

You are assuming BU accepts a bid to one of these podunk tournaments. It's a different administration now, and I am not sure financially it makes sense. Time will tell though.

Evansville was asked and accepted a postseason bid last year, so I wouldn't rule out the Sycs yet.
