  • Who are the hottest teams in the Valley right now?

In the month of February, here's the performance of each Valley team:

Bradley: 5-2 with only a 1-pt loss to ISU and an OT loss to InSU - arguably just a smidgen away from being 7-0
Creighton: 4-3 with wins only over the lower end teams of the Valley and about to get one more loss at home
Drake: 2-5 and not a single win over a team above .500 and pretty much locked into Thursday
Evansville: 2-5 with wins over UNI & WSU, but still losing to teams like UIC, anyway - Evansville is incapabble of getting hot
    ISU: 6-1 playing very well
Indiana St: 3-4 but are limping and got hammered badly last night, half their team is hurt and adrenaline can only carry so far
Missouri St: 4-3 but have not beaten an upper division Valley team - MSU started the season 12-1, and have gone 7-9 since
No. Iowa: 5-2 but losing to Evansville disqualifies these guys from any consideration
So. Illinois: 3-4 but just lost to Creighton, Drake, and MSU - three teams they'd have had to beat to get any consideration - SIU is 6-11 since nipping BU on New Year's Day
Wichita St: 3-4 but lost once to Evansville, then almost lost again to them, pulling it out in OT - they are also 6-6 over the past 6 weeks and 3 of their wins are by 2 pts or less

So let's see someone refute the facts...
Bradley is the hottest team in the Valley right now, playing better than any other MVC team....so why can't people see the obvious and stop the bellyaching?

    Umm...sorry...not a "fact".
Is Illinois State no longer in the Valley?
Last time I checked they had won 6 in a row and they were the hottest team in the Valley...nice try, though.

ISU is 6-1 in February- which is why they were omitted... lol
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

ooops....I'd like to think they aren't but they are also playing well...wonder if their fans are bellyaching??
the correction is made...but it doesn't change the facts that Bradley is playing well over the past month.....
BTW--- since Jan 1st, they have NOT beaten a team in the Valley that is ahead of them in the standings..........Bradley has....twice

I.S.U. (red) is undoubtedly the hottest team right now, and a real threat to win the Valley tourney.
They have a tenacious style of play - really physical and equal-opportunity offense with many weapons. I think they're a tad better actually than last year.
BU is hot with regard to record, but squeaking by in a couple of their wins.

ISU (red) wins the Valley tournament. Odiakosa is the difference maker. Reminds me of the 2005--06 season, when Patrick came on like gangbusters the second half of the season. We got 'em rolling and they're peaking at just the right time. ****!

Well with half the league ahead of us, we have had several more opportunities to do so. But, hiccup in Terre Haute aside, one could argue we're playing our best basketball since late November/early December.

BTW...UNI has not beaten a team in the Valley that is ahead of them all year long!!! Wow...they clearly are having a down year!

We are playing better. As I noted in my prediction thread for last night's game, BU's record improved when the D improved.

Last night was a little worrisome on the defensive end, but I will hope that was a one night thing.

so then, you think 5-2 this month is bad, right??
personally I'd rather be accused of positive spin than constant, droning, negative spin that amounts to bellyaching

Isn't UNI the only one ahead of them in the standings? And they only played once.

5-2 is very good though. So good that you don't need to spin anything. Let 5-2 speak for itself. It's strong enough. Its voice can be heard.

Dunno...probably because that thread was started after we'd blown our 5th double-digit 2nd half lead at home on the year. But hey, we moved to 1-4 in those situations with the win last night, so the arrow is definitely pointing up!
