I said it a week or so ago about UCONN...but any team in the Big East that gets to .500 in league play and is anywhere close to sniffing 20 wins....is in!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.
They finish up with road games at Gtown and Marquette and have a home game inbetween against Uconn. That being senior night for them along with them always playing well at home I think they beat Uconn, plus I'm still not overly impressed with Marquette and think they can be beat. If they steal the game Saturday at Gtown, Notre Dame is right back on track to put themselves in, and even if they just win 2 of 3 they are probably at least on the bubble being in the big east.
Speaking of bubble teams, I just watch on ESPN's website Doug Gotlieb talk about Illinois on Illinois's page. He said that the Illini only have to go 1-2 to get in, which would make them 19-12. He also said the loss to Bradley was a bad loss, but the win at Michigan was a pretty good win. Michigan is 13-14. I don't think 19-12 should be good enough to get anyone in, much less with the Illini's SOS and RPI in the 60s. And how is Michigan a good win, but we are a bad loss?

Upcoming.... The Illini have Minny at home - a likely win. Then OSU on the road - a likely loss, but the way they play, they'll actually lose a close one. Then back home for Sr night vs Wisky - I think they squeak out a close win. That's 2-1 in final 3 games. That's 12-6 in the B10. They'll be in the 45-60 range in the RPI going into the B10 Trny. Seems they would be "out" of the NCAA, but 12-6 in the B10 will actually get them "in". But the NCAA Committee won't be convinced until they see more.... and I think in the B10 Trny, the Illini will win at least 2 (if not win the whole thing) to put themselves IN.
