Note: It appears Google is having issues with the nomination form. As of Feb 24th, the form is returning an error or coming up blank. If you receive this error from Google, please try again later. Thank you!

I'm a little confused on this, so maybe someone can offer some clarity...

On the surface, this sounds spectacular. But would we actually be purchasing Internet through Google or would, say, Comcast be selling us Google's Internet? If it's the first answer, I gotta believe that all the Peoria ISPs can't be very happy with this, right??

I heard that the response was so big from Peoria that it actually overloaded the site yesterday. You might have better luck today.

Google would be offering extremely high speed internet access at very subsidized prices. Yes, Comcast would hate it and any other ISP. Google's business is all about advertising and they are trying to make it easier for people to access internet services and specifically to make sure you go through Google when you do. Right now the ISPs have leverage over Google. It maybe a little, but Google is not taking any chances.
