Is the game tonight on TV in Peoria?

  • #2
It is not scheduled to be. Since it's a home game, your best bet is to find it out bubraves.tv and pay for the feed, or catch it on the radio with 1470 WMBD (www.wmdb1470.com streams it online, too)

      No local TV.
The game will be televised by Cox Communications cable TV channel 22 in Wichita. If anyone knows if this game can be found on Satellite, or anywhere else, let us know.

I'd be interested to learn what programs took priority when scheduling(or not) this game? I would have thought senior night was automatic.

Not making excuses, but I know Bradley mainly wanted the road conference games on TV and only wanted to allow a couple home games televised. Comcast preferred weekend games over weeknights, but they did pick up the ISU and Creighton home games, which were weekday games. So I just think it was a matter of numbers. If they had picked the WSU game, we might not have gotten Creighton or one of the others.
I hear the package could expand in the future and the quality will definitely improve as equipment upgrades. Bradley has one of the best, if not the best TV package among MVC teams, so we should appreciate what we have.

They should only broadcast road games and home sellouts

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. The fact that these games were able to be viewed in Chicago and throughout the state of Illinois this year is pretty amazing when you think about it. My only complaint would be that DirecTV and Dish Network customers have been left out in the cold on this one. Unfortunately, I am not sure how that one can be solved.

This TV deal developed with the help of Ken Kavanagh, so I give him credit. However, Ken was never a fan of televising home games, and wanted the TV games to be mainly road games, and a couple home games where the TV wouldn't hurt (like ISU, Creighton). Maybe the current AD and administration will have a different outlook. We'll have to wait and see what next year's TV package looks like.

From what I hear, these broadcasts don't make much money, if any, and if it was just the local network stations, we'd probably have seen an end to BU on TV (except maybe BU-ISU games). Comcast gets an extra benefit from hosting the games by using it to sell a few more cable subscriptions to the people who wouldn't have any other way to get the games. For that reason, I don't expect to see them appear on the dish networks anytime soon (Comcast's competetion).

I have thoroughly enjoyed the broadcasts this year in Chicago. I would have switched to WOW had it not been for Comcast 102's BU games. Bussone and Versace have done a very nice job calling the action and I hope it continues next year.

Check this site as the day goes on, these satellite enthusiasts scan the sky all day/night long. If they find it, they list the coordinates. I think Kouri's still has a big dish setup, you can call them if it's on.

Yeah - it was a shock to me that they aired all the Comcast games they air in Peoria. I ordered 102 hoping to catch a couple Redbirds games - instead I got to watch EVERY BU game and a few I.S.U. games (just to check out the competition, of course).

I think every game on Comcast has been super close since the BU @ SIU game - I get excited listening to the broadcasters' excitement.
Book it! Money! Rip City! Un-beLIEVE-able. (Just a few of the expressions that have grown on me this year)

I, too, look forward to watching the Braves next year - just hope the signal comes on quicker like it does for every ISU (red) game.
