Wichita State gets commitment from 2011 guard

Evan Wessel, a 6'4" junior point guard (class of 2011) from Wichita Heights verbally committed to Wichita State yesterday.
He also was being recruited by Missouri State, but the offer from WSU was reportedly his only offer.

6'4" Point Guard is a pretty big dude... don't see that too often at the Mid-Major level... looks like a nice pickup for the shockers...

Some recruiting sites project him to be a combo or off-guard at the college level. Reportedly lacks quickness (see videos below), but a pretty good leaper, and good rebounder for a guard.

Not a bad player, but not a college PG. Very Jake Eastman-like, IMO. Not a bad thing.

I think that is a good comparison. Jake lead his high school team in assists and rebounds- 16 ppg, 8 rpg, 7.5 apg.
