would we be guaranteed a 6 seed or higher? Or does that depend on what happens in the Drake - Missouri St. game? Just wondering how that works. I would hate to have to put ourselves in a must win situation at Omaha to stay out of Thursday.

A win either Wednesday or Saturday guarantees us at least the 6th seed.
We can also get the 6 seed even with two losses this week. There are a variety of ways for that to happen, but the simplest is MSU beats Drake, Drake beats Evansville, and Indiana State beats MSU.

No a Drake loss to Evansville would not be good if we go 8-10. That could leave us tied for 6th at 8-10 with MSU, and we will likely lose that tiebreaker on points. A Drake win leaves Drake, MSU, and BU tied for 6th at 8-10, and we win the 3-way round-robin tiebreaker if that happens.

And don't forget, a win guarantees us no worse than a .500 record and a spot in that "rugged" CBI tournament or the "elusive" CIT tournament!

That would be very disappointing to the winner of the Great West conference tournament if there is no CIT this year. The CIT apparently guaranteed the tourney winner a spot in the 16 team field for 2010.

I know that winning Arch Madness and making a trip to the NCAA tourney is what we all want but I decided to search out and see if there was going to be a CIT this year, since some have said there was no info out there yet.
I did find a link about the 2010 CIT selection committee. Based on who is on the committee we might have trouble securing a bid, even if we wanted one.
Looks like we could benefit from having ABIII's dad on the committee, but against us would be Jerry Wainwright (who probably holds a grudge since we gave his team several beatdowns), Lou Henson (pretty sure good 'ol crying Lou would be against BU since he was scared to ever have his Illini teams play the Braves), and the strongest opposition to the Braves would be former coach Merfeld (who was fired for some reason that no one knows for sure).

Who could take the #5 seed in our place if we win Wed. and lose Sat.?
Creighton, Indiana State, and Missouri State all could beat us out for that 5 seed if that happened...one of them would probably be the 4 though.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, and holding high expectations...yet again for tomorrow's game, but if we win tomorrow and lose at CU on Sat.,
how could we not get a #5 seed?
Would Indy St. win the tie-breaker if they finished 9-9 too?
How about Missouri St?
I'd like to see a MSU vs. ISU (red) match-up in the Friday round. I think they have a good shot at beating ISU (red), but we (BU) will have our hands full.
We NEED the #5 seed!
