  • Significant Other a BU basketball

I was wondering, since I'm always getting in arguments with my significant other regarding my passion for BU basketball, how others on this site manage with theirs.

She's in a puts up with it mode... But we're newlywed and she's newly exposed to BU, so I'm hoping to convert her to a shares the passion type.

She wants them to win as bad as I do and does not miss games, but then my whole family is pretty much that way as we are huge sports fans.

ha! somewhere between "shares the passion" and "puts up with it". How about "shares a slightly lower level of passion"
        Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

Looks like "Puts up with it" is the runaway winner. That's where I fall, too. The spouse loves the games as much as I do, but in between, and in the off-season, she's not the least interested in what's going on, unlike me!

In my book she is sharing the passion. Albeit, not as much as you. I took my girlfriend to Bradley's Sweet 16 game and by the middle of the 2nd game she wanted to leave. Imagine missing the end of the UCLA/Gonzaga game? I thought I could get her hooked? Cost me a few more glasses of wine and I'm still vilified when I want to stay home and watch the games.

My wife could care less about any sports, including BU Basketball. But that's OK. I've been a fan of hers for 27 years, but a fan of Bradley basketball for over 35 years. So she knows who's gonna win that battle. Besides Pete, I wear the pants.

I went to my first home BU game in person Saturday night, since S Miss a few years ago and sat in section 18 upper level, next to a lady who was sitting forward the whole game and big time into it. Her husband paid attention but was not as "intense" as she was. I was very impressed with her passion.

BTW thanks to a guy named Mel for giving me and my wife free admission to the game.

Wifes first BU game in person and she was somewhat impressed by the atmosphere. She hates that I watch a Bradley game on the computer atleast 2 times a week.

She might have been more impressed that 2 beers were a combined $11 while when we go to anything in Houston the price of one beer is never less then $9.00.

                    I am Blessed

We are both passionate about BU basket ball/BU Athletics in general. As an avid college BBall fan she does get a little tired of all the TV games but does not miss a BU game.

My girlfriend graduated from ISU last year and she was in the men's basketball pep band. Any time I take out my "Can The Birds" koozie or "Go Braves" hand banner, she threatens to destroy them. But for the most part, she respects my passion for Bradley Basketball. I even dragged her to the Bradley/Pacific CIT game last year

The retorts here are endless and likely inappropriate for this board.

My wife falls between "puts up" and "shares the passion" depending on the way the season is going.

BTW...my wife is an ISU grad and her parents are season ticket holders...so I feel qualified to reply!

It does make it difficult. However, my wife never went to an ISU game while she was a student there. Since the only game at Redbird Arena we go to is the BU/ISU game, she thinks they average 10,000 a game.

                              No worries for me!

My wife is a BU alum as well, and our first date was a Bradley Basketball game, with tickets courtesy of JL!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???
