I am missing the distressed part. Seems to me brown has a real issue with following rules and at making decisions. If he needs help iwold advise to go find it and stop tweeting about his after midnight actvities on Friday morning. It is very apparent he know what is right and wrong he just can't it appears resist the wrong choices.

I'd love to give TB the benefit of the doubt, but he's been suspended numerous times already this season. You would hope he would just "get it"!

As an African-American male, it is disheartening that because TB can dribble a basketball that his behavior and twitter comments are given a free pass.

Reading his comments on his twitter account about wishing he was at an HBCU (Historically Black College and University), his comments about falling asleep in class, lewd comments about women and his twitter pics of his teacher I'm ashamed and disgusted.

Being good at basketball cannot be an excuse for not exhibiting values, good judgement and good character. There are 12 other scholarship players, even one's who are not getting the PT who are abiding by the rules and not being a disruption. When you are not on the court, it opens up opportunities for losses and it leads me to believe that TB is out for himself more than the team. It's easy to be contrite when you've got to face the consequences of your actions, but it would be great if he could just think first.

Yes, he's young and still maturing. But youth is not an excuse. He has to know better! He has to be better as a person. I would hope his parents can straighten him out before it's too late!

Correction, he has not been given a free pass. He has been disciplined in every case where it was deserved.
As I have said elsewhere- in this case, TB's judgement may have offended you, too bad. He didn't ask anyone to read his twitter page. He hasn't broken any laws, or violated any athletic or student behavior codes. So the only discression is being rude, and immature, and for bringing embassassment onto the Basketball team. For that he has been punished.

You seem to suggest he was treated special, when in fact it is the other way around. If any other student at Bradley did what TB did, they would have not been subject to any penalty at all.

He has been disciplined, he's been disciplined so much this season that he should already be on a short leash. Also, just because he didn't ask anyone to read his twitter page doesn't mean that he shouldn't be held accountable for what's on that page!

If having a scholarship to play D1 basketball at BU doesn't mean enough to TB that he can't stay awake in class, and he wishes he were back in the ATL at an HBCU, then explain to me how he's aligning his goals with those of the BU basketball program and the university?

Yes I am offended. I personally think that Mr. Brown is too concerned with being in the NBA in two years as opposed to working hard to get there. I'm not convinced that if he does get there it will be in a BU uniform since he's obviously expressed that he'd rather be at a black school and not BU.

And while you support the logic that if he were just another student he wouldn't be subject to any penalty at all, if he were just another student he'd be paying tuition and not getting a free ride, tutors, academic support services, and a lot of other things he gets in exchange for his basketball prowess.

But I won't argue the point anymore. He's served his suspension and I'm hoping he's learned a lesson from all this.

I went to Bradley on a scholarship, and I slept through many a class.

I'm pretty much in Da_Coach's camp on this one. We should all just move on and hope that the kid realizes that his actions are scrutinized a lot more then then the average kid.

I'd hope his goals are to be in the NBA! It should be every player's goal & dream.

Of course he needs to realize putting the team first will make him look better... but he's still a sophomore. And 20. Lets just wait and see before we laugh at his aspirations.

For what it's worth, a former NBA coach, who has seen every team in the Valley, said that, in his opinion the MVC player with the highest likelihood of playing in the NBA is Taylor Brown of Bradley. So it clearly is not that much of a stretch.

How long do we have to keep hoping he grows up and realize he's got it made right now?

So you're another ex-poor white. I've been over it for a long time. If he wants understanding, stay off the tweeter and I'm sure his teammates and coaches will help him understand how he's on scholarship because of his ability to play basketball.

Also, how many chances does BU give him?

I really hope this is his last suspension at BU. Time is running shorter on his potential.
