  • Matt Roth Rumor

I know we've discussed this several times in the past, but I have heard several RUMORS from people close to Matt Roth saying that he is strongly considering transferring to BU. It makes sense to me... considering the talent that IU has coming in, he probably isn't looking at a ton of playing time in the next three years. Plus he's probably seeing DSE succeed and realizing what a mistake he made by choosing Indiana over BU.

The only thing is that now that he's redshirted this year, next year would count even though he would have to sit out all year and he would lose a year of eligibility.

    Let the debate begin!

Maybe it goes with the Coach Brown rumor too.

Rumors are saying he may leave Washington and join Les' staff at Bradley.

        ????
I have never heard this one. I'd love to know where this rumor is coming from. I am not aware of any close relationship or connection that Coach Brown has with any of the BU coaches.
I have only seen him at a couple games.
He's an fine coach, but I would have to believe this rumor is not in the "Likely" category.

          Thanks, but no thanks...

I hate to have someone around that says hey, you were my 2nd choice, but I went somewhere else, realized I wasn't wanted there, so now I want back in...

Thats like being passed over by a girl that realizes the guy she chose is out of her league, but she dates him and messes around with him, and then realizes he's not what she really wanted, so then she comes crawling back to you, and says hey, I am available...

          Yeah, thanks, but no thanks.

It is his dream to play basketball and Indiana. I doubt lack of playing time has any influence on him potentially leaving there. Now if he's been told that his scholarship is not going to be renewed, that's another issue altogether.

              Not interested.

Like what i'm seeing out of our young guys and have plenty returning.

Now if he was about 6' 10" 225 Lbs that would be a different answer.

Hey we got Jimmy, Big Mike, Cellus, etc as 2nd stops. If a player is good, you take him.

I have heard it as well. At least as far back as Christmas. More than once.

Yeah, plus we have a loaded recruiting class for next year.

If the player wants to come fine whatever.

But I do not want the coach. I do not want a high school coach to come in and be part of Jim Les's revampted coaching staff, especially one from Washington Illinois. If you are bringing in a new coach bring in one who has college experience and will challenge Les.

What if the guy was George Clooney? I wouldn't mind being second best to him.

I agree with squirrel on this one. I don't see him wanting out...but Indiana may be interested in freeing up a scholarship.

BU needs to go for more big men..This would make our current shooters better. Roth may not make a difference if defenses can cheat on the perimeter without any BU inside presence. out
