  • suggestions?

put this in a positive tone. as this is a pro-bradley board and lets not get down on our players.

but what do we need and what can we as fans do to get to the point that we are a serious valley contender instead of middle of the pack. i would rather win a championship or two and be last one year than this.

    ideas? be positive please.

We could try switching to kool-aid in the Gatorade jugs on the bench?
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...

Hire a new coach. This will help the players develop and be ready night in and night out.

I'm amazed it took 4 posts for someone to go this route.

Well, do you have an easier solution? I took a positive view. Again, when everyone and everything is to blame, you have to look to the top of that program.

Something is missing. I think everyone can agree on that. Whether you think that is a head coach, assistant, big man, whatever, something is keeping the ceiling of this team around .500

The question is, what has changed since the times of success? What have we never had that the other schools have?

My suggestion would be to try to hire at least one assistant that JL trusts and respects.

And we also need to find a recruit who ends up being better than he was in HS. (JJ, Hawk, POB). Our past success has revolved around them. Those guys don't grow on trees, though.

I agree. But Jim hired all the assistants. The only one who was qualified, was fired/resigned/left this year.

In keeping with winter games theme that is an ex excuse. I was all over the Ind St. board and did not see one mention of injuries. Every team has them, its not a curse. You just need the kind of players and coaches that can adjust. I think I mentioned it before most programs look at injuries as an opportunity, notan excuse.

Very well said. I think that is a great point. Winners do not look for excuses.

Ding ding ding. And that's why he shouldn't have another chance to make the same mistakes. There's nothing in his track record that shows he will make the best staffing decisions.

As to the question of what has happened since the "times of success" he has had one year, 2007 where he has done a better than average job for an entire season. In 2006 the team reached its potential. Due to the suspensions of two players for inappropriate benefits, the non-conference and the start conference play still left a lot to be desired. And it was his actions that were the cause of that.

So one might say the days of success are an outlier, and nothing has really changed. And to a good (and growing) number of people, that is precisely the problem.
