(SM and DSE are the others, imo)

Maybe nitpicking a young man's social media microblogs after a loss makes people feel better. I dont know. The loss sucked, but I find it hard to blame TB or his confidence in any way for it.
Maybe it is nitpicking, but I don't think that was the intent of the post of his tweet. I took it as an example of the mindset of the players going into the game last night. I pretty much saw that, we played like a team that thought we can turn it on when we want to and then didn't.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

IMO we have seemed to look like this all year...

My question is, why should this team feel like they are entitled to anything?!

Good points by SLBrave and BigDaddy......

That is my point exactly. This team continually goes into games with the same problems.

Every postgame the players and coach say the same things.

        We weren't ready

        They didn't buy in

        We had a let up

        etc.....

Wouldn't you think at some point they would realize that every game requires the same focus, game planning, and effort?

Somewhere between the players and the staff, many things are lost in translation and they just don't get...

My point about the staff...there have been a few assistant coaching changes and players have come and gone, but no top 3 finishes, conference championships, or tournament titles...only 2 names have remained the same for 7+ years...

That leads me to believe its more about the staff than the players....

This team should be able to run last years out of the gym, yet most players have regressed from previous years, and they will undoubtedly finish below last years results...

Most schools have made coaching changes and the ones who have (for the right reasons) have made great strides (minus Evansville)...

I say that with the disclaimer as both Drake and SIU were forced into changes because of coaches leaving...SIU has still won up til these last two years with Lowery...

Otherwise, everyone else it seems is on the up trend (even Indiana State), yet BU has been pretty stagnant over the 8 years...

Question, would you sacrifice a play in year or two for some top-3 finishes and a title?

          I know I would!

Really it comes down to what you think is the best case scenario.

IF I thought we could win (not CBI or CIT games) with Jim, I would fully support giving him some time.

However, taking an honest look at his 8 years tells me we are getting his best right now. I think, with Jim, we will always be middle of the pack, right around .500.

To me that is not good enough. I know it is good enough for others.

I agree and with Dodie, Sammy, and Andrew having no chance to leave next year, why not pull the plug now and give yourself the chance to win with another guy and if he can't his first year, you have Will, Taylor, and DSE among others for the next season?

That being said, he will be back next year, I can state that as a fact, and will be on the shortest leash possible.

I have no doubts about this fact.

He is who he is right now and that is a very average division 1 basketball coach.

I doubt a new voice would automatically take this program to MVC champions.

Les is who we have, but what I do want is for him to evaluate himself honestly.

Many of the complaints about MO were he got stale after 10 years, has Les and his voice towards his team gotten stale in 8 years? Has his game plans, in game execution and communication with his players gotten stale?

Those are things Les needs to evaluate about himself. But when a team plays incredibly inconsistant basketball, looks and even admits it is unprepared or focused for a game that type of preparations falls on to the shoulders of the staff and ultimately the head coach.

I watch the body language of not only the guys on the court but those on the bench and often many of the players body languages says Id like to be anywhere but here.

A shake up in his staff and also his attention to detail, communication and overall program enthusiasm have to be addressed.

Wrong! Many of us Les apologist Kool-Aid drinkers have stated that next year is a make or break year for Les. Top 3 in MVC and minimum NIT or he's gone, IMO.

But I have heard THAT for 3 years in a row!

I think one of Jl's dis-advantages these past 8 years has been the basketball facilities. That should change now into a positive for better recruits. I've read good recruits such as Shumpert, Richardson, Witherspoon to name a few who has had an interest in BU but JL was not able to close on them. Was part of their decision based on facilities ? I don't know. I recall one guard recruit ( I can't think of this name ), went to W.Kent. instead and is now in the NBA, saying he didn't care for BU's basketball facilities as one reason he did not come here. I, along with most on this board, believe next season should be special with the core players returning but if next season doesn't reach our expectation's ( MVC Conf. title or at least compete for the league title ) and a NCAA/NIT bid, all will not be lost for the future of BU basketball. JL should be able to gain more interest from better players with these facilities and as we all know, a coach is only as good as his players.
