  • Northern Iowa remains in ESPN/CNN Top 25

Northern Iowa falls from #19 to #24 in the ESPN/CNN Top 25 poll, while dropping out of the AP poll to #26. That sounds fair to me as they should not be severely punished for losing only their third game of the season.

Cornell on the other hand deserved getting thrown out of both polls after losing to then 3-22 Penn this past weekend!

    On the road, no less.

Good for them...helps the Valley to have them in the poll.

Yes it does. And I hope the win out up until St. Louis, which may be easier said than done now with their second leading scorer suspended for three games.

Illinois is getting some votes too. They would be 29/32 I guess? That means we have beat 2 top 30 teams!

Found it interesting Notre dame has 9 votes in the coaches poll and Marquette has 12 votes in the AP poll. They are middle of the pack Big East teams that are on the bubble right now, it's not like they have had tremendous seasons. I root for Notre Dame to do well too, but I don't think they should be receiving any votes right now.

I like that they stayed in the polls and hopefully this JE thing doesn't cost them any wins because I would love to play them again in St. Louis when they are ranked

Did anyone see that Sam Maniscalco is on the front page of ESPN Men's Basketball?

Well he is out of focus because Johnny Moran is in the foreground...

And lost to RPI 128, 184, 104, 140, and 132, 4 of which were at home. Yay.

it amazes me that Illinois is increasing in votes! surely they would have been ranked with a win on sunday...but to get embarrassed?

Ohio State (with Turner) is the real deal!

Oh, you had to bring that up again, didn't you?

Just a "minor" bump in the road on route to our NCAA Tournament bid.

Didn't they get embarrassed when we beat them? I mean we are a terribly coached team with very little talent because our staff can't recruit. THAT should have been the height of their embarrassment!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Bad losses don't count for major programs. Especially early losses. Are you new to NCAA basketball?

I remember a few years back, ESPN called Bradley a good win for UoI and a bad loss for an MVC team.

                          Also I hate ESPN.
JL are not respunsible foor the string of injunrys....
