As everyone knows I'm generally a glass half full kind of guy, but I can't help from looking at these standings and thinking what could have been... GRRRR. I blame my friend who spilled salt during the BYU game and didn't throw any over his shoulder...

I am generally a positive guy too, and I still think this team has potential to end it right. But I think all of us have let it creep in to our minds that if we had held on to SIU and ISU of those home games we'd be tied in second, and if we held all 4 home double digit games we'd be 17-8 (10-5) with 2 good wins over Illinois and UNI.

It's definitely tough not to think about, but I believe this program is going up the next few years and I still believe this team can make a run here at the end! Can't change it, so we gotta move on and go get them the rest of the year.

      Go Braves!

I think the total is actually 5 home games...not 4.

        WCU
        Loyola
        SIUC
        CU
        ISU

It'd be a 10 game swing in our overall record obviously and a 6 game swing within the conference....there's no sense in denying it....it hurts.

Swing 4 of those 5 home games and we're an at-large team.

          Just sayin'.

No way. tht only gets us to 17-8 at this juncture and a ninth loss along the way would put us in the NIT. If recent history has proven anything, to get in as a mid major, it's gonna take something like 25-6...anything more than 7 losses and you're out. just sayin. especially in a down year for our conference and an SOS which will be at about 100 when it's all over.

17-8 with a very solid non-con SoS and overall SoS for a mid major. Two quality wins to build a resume around (UNI, UI). 2nd in conference, probable Top 50 RPI. And we'd obviously have a meatier BB opponent.

              We'd be there.

Before I declare "Victory" for BU's program after beating UNI, have to see how the season finishes out for BU. They could 'turn the corner' and win out, win a couple in the MVC Tournament, or even win the MVC tournament.

OR, they could finish 0.500 or worse in the MVC, flame out in the Tournament with no chance to get to 20 wins.

The former could be seen as BU turning the corner for the optimists.

The latter could be seen a continuation of the previous two mediocre BU seasons....Win some they shouldn't and lose some they shouldn't. High highs (ILLI and UNI) giving hope vs Low lows (ISU and Blown Leads) aleading to more frustration

Hopefully the program can 'turn the corner' with a five or six game winning streak and a chance to declare and celebrate 'Victory' giving BU fans a hopeful off season leading up to a better 2010-11.

Its up to the coaches and players! Go get em..

I meant the double digit leads with 10 minutes left at home. There were 4 of those. I don't think we ever lead the Creighton game, so i'll chalk that up as just a bad game.

Oh yeah...sorry I didn't read that part. I'm still counting it as a game we should've won. We'd be NIT lock and NCAA bubble talk for sure ugghghghg
