UNI Rumor

Feel free to delete this if it is too speculative, but there is a rumor surrounding UNI.. Several folks have heard that there has been a drunk driving incident involving Jordan Eglseder last night. No links or anything, but there has been talk on the UNI and Iowa boards.

If this turns out to be true, it could be a big blow to UNI.

This topic is being discussed on the Iowa fan message board, but there are statements that it is not true on the UNI board, and deletions of the allegations.

Seriously though, that's a shame if this is true because they represent the Valley's best chance to go far in the NCAA Tournament, and Ben Jacobson has run this program very well. But sometimes all it takes is one person's stupidity to cost a team dearly. I hope none of this is true.

Has this happened to UNI before and if so what happened to that player. I know at BU the guy would probably be off the team for the rest of the year. I hope if true that he at least can play in the NCAA if they make it. I guess it will come down to was he over the legal limit or did he just have an open container. Never ever wise to drink and drive.

I doubt a BU guy would be gone for the year SFP. And, I doubt if "this guy" will be gone for the year. I see a University-imposed 2-3 game suspension while the legal system plays out. Remember, we're all innocent until proven guilty..... And guilt can take a while to play out..... especially for a senior on a championship, NCAA-bound team.

I'm pretty sure UNI stayed in Peoria last night as someone I talked to said they were staying in the same hotel as them. If they were correct there wouldn't be any reason for any players to be driving. Maybe I got wrong info though.
