  • Tennessee at Kentucky

Good game going so far but something Dickie V said just strung me the wrong way.

When talking Tennessee's players that were just reinstated after the problems they had earlier this year, Dickie V went on to say "I hope they take advantage of this 2nd chance because they are athletes otherwise they probably wouldn't have gotten it"

At what point did they stop being Student-Athletes? I do not think that they should be allowed a 2nd chance when a regular student wouldn't be allowed a 2nd chance.

Understand what you are saying and I agree but many schools, maybe most, treat there athletes differently. Heck I can remember in high school I was given extra time on an assignment because I was on the basketball team!

BTW, the game is great, back and forth. Kentucky has some great athletes but they do not impress me as a team. Meaning they don't really seem to play as a team.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Dickie V is being either a little naive or a little dishonest...

those Tennessee athletes have all been in trouble many times, and several others (Duke Crews, Ramar Smith, Jemere Hendrix, Josh Tabb, etc...) have also been arrested, had drug busts, flunked multiple drug screens, etc, etc...and not only gotten 2nd chance, but 3rd, 4th, 5th, and more..

Dick said that they got their 2nd chances because they were athletes, well....duh.....half the team is likely playing with monitoring ankle bracelets with all the arrests they've had at Tennessee.........they are a true thug & renegade program.
