  • 1 MVC game Sunday, 2/14

Missouri State at Wichita State at 7:05 pm CST-

I'm torn on this, if MSU wins obviously that puts another team tied with us, but puts us within a game of second but with a bunch of teams right there, and ISU holding the sweep over us.

Is there any chance at all we get second even if Wichita St. losses this game? It doesn't look like it is really great, so most are probably rooting for WS I'm guessing to push MSU from the bunch up? But I don't know, probably just wishful thinking, but I can't help but wanting to root for MSU.

In the Big Ten today- Ohio State dominated Illinois from start to finish on the Illini's home court and won 72-53

It was not a pretty game to watch if you are an Illinois fan. Illinois shot poorly (34% from the floor, 17% from three), and looked out of sync the entire game. Illinois falls to 17-9, 9-4, and blows a chance to remain in a 1st place tie in the Big Ten.

Evan Turner is the real deal. What a complete player! He should be the clear POY candidate IMO. He is a lot more then a scorer and he always seems to be in control. I'm not a Big X or a Ohio State fan so coming from me this says a ton about this guy. He take OSU from a 20-30 rank team to a top 5 team! Take John Wall from KY and they are still a top 10 team.

They must think they're going to win the conference tournament then. That's their only chance.

I really liked this and maybe it is just me, but when the announcers were talking about Top 25 upsets this weekend, they listed three and the Bradley-UNI game was the last one but the picture to the right was of our student-section and band, looked like an old photo though because the band had their old shirts on.

I've been watching Notre Dame on channel surfing while watching the WSU-MSU game on ESPNU...

Notre Dame just lost to St. Johns and now has a ton of work to do the rest of the way to get in the tourny now. They played without Harongody and Abromaitis stepped up, but still a bad loss at home. Big game with Louisville up next.

WSU-MSU game has been good so far, I'm rooting for MSU on the outside chance Bradley can surpass ISU and WSU for second place even though ISU has the tiebreak.

Notre Dame isn't going to the tournament. They only have 1 road win all year. They won't even be in the conversation.

Wichita beat Missouri State 66-64. Also just saw that UNI starting center Jordan Eglesleder has been suspended 3 games for being arrested for a DWI this morning. Could have a big effect on their play and possible at large bid if they don't win the Mo Valley tournament. Also could be a benefit to 2 of those 3 teams who'll be playing them, which is at home against Creighton, the bracketbuster game at home against Old Dominion. The other game is against Evansville.

Wichita wins 66-64. Second is basically impossible now. 3rd unlikely, but still possible. I actually would not mind the 4-5 game though. I don't want to be sixth because ISU and WSU are the teams I fear we match up with the worst. I'm not scared of Creighton in the 4-5 game nor UNI after if we win round one.

Ideally for me, I would like to see Creighton lose out, because we never seem to have luck against them. Then if Missouri State can take 2 of 3, they should take the 5 seed, with us in the 4. I think we match up well against MSU, and assuming we win that game, we would hopefully get UNI, who I feel like we match up even better against. How about a MVC Final matchup of BU vs. ISU. Can't let em sweep us.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Here are the remaining MVC schedules for the teams that are not UNI, Drake, SIU and Evansville. WSU plays at home against Evansville, at BU and at home against SIU. ISU Red plays at home against Missouri St, at home agianst ISU Blue and at UNI. Creighton plays at UNI, at SIU and at Home against BU. We play at ISU Blue, at home against WSU and at CU. MSU plays at ISU Red, at home against Drake and at ISU Blue. ISU Blue plays us at home, At ISU Red and at home against MSU. We beat ISU Blue we clinch no worse than 6th. I don't see ISU Red losing 2 out of 3 so the best we can finish is 4th unless there's a multi-team tiebreaker we win. Might be playing CU back to back games again like we did a couple of years ago. Should be a fun 2 weeks to end the of the regular season.

I don't know, I could see them losing to MSU next game, and at UNI which will still be a big game for them in terms of at-large chances. So we could get third still, although unlikely. I was thinking about a BU-ISU final earlier too! Wouldn't that be something?

Creighton has a chance to lose out playing at UNI, at SIU, and at home against us, so that is not completely unrealistic with that tough schedule. I would like MSU in an ideal world too, but would much rather be in the 4-5 with Creighton than on the side with WSU an ISU as the 2,3 we would have to go through.
