Anybody got any info on Paul Bunch? Guy's listed as 6'10-11 and say he's still growing and could be at least 7'0. Sounds like a real good player, but Scout and ESPN don't show any schools interested, and rivals only shows Kentucky but with no offer on the table. Come on DC give us somethin

Here's an article saying he's been struggling academically, but that his coach has really had an impact in getting him on track. This guy could be a real diamond in the rough.

He has been connected to the Chicago network of coaches/advisers for a long time.
Even if he does qualify (which is why most schools have ignored him), Bradley would have to play a game in Chicago that they aren't likely to be able to play.

Bunch's two main negatives are
-academics
-athleticism
he is big and dominates at HS, but he is very slow, out of shape, and hardly any D-I programs see a lot of potential...
he is a smaller version of Kenny George..

I recall North Lawndale playing Manual a few years back in the 2A state championship game. Bunch had a monster game and was only a sophomore. 18 points 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. I remember telling myself this kid will be a ton once he is a senior. Sounds like things haven't quite panned out.

Yup... they must be cheating since they got some of those Chicago recruits that bu didn't get... If you can't beat em, assumed they cheated!!!

I took it that ISU is working the system and working something does not mean it has to be illegal just willing to play the game that is out there. The facts are that if you want to play in Chicago certain games have to be played, so you either play or go somewhere else. I hear a lot of posters here that want someone to recruit Chicago, but do not want to play the game. You can't have it both ways.

Did I miss something?? What Chicago kid has ISU gotten that's helped them even one iota in the last 5 years since Porter landed OE?
In fact, I saw OE up close and personal twice in the last couple weeks, and I'd say Bradley has a better kid out of Chicago than ISU does...

Not sure where I saw it but one site did say that Kentucky, U of I, Wisconsin, Depaul, and I think MU were all showing interest. I wouldn't consider Egleseder very fast or athletic, but he's 7'0 and has a huge body unlike DC who was still able to be pushed around.

Tony Lewis and Kellen Thornton each helped ISU sweep your squad this year. Lewis more than Thornton granted but they helped in both wins and Lewis will likely earn a spot on the All-Newcomer and All-Bench team in the Valley this year. They each will be back next year also and Lewis likely will start. Terry Johnson and Zeke Upshaw are talented young players with upside. Kenyon Smith arrives next year and could be the starting PG. Trey Blue will be pushing for a lot of time as a sophomore next year. Is that enough for you? Wanna count Threloff too?

None of those kids were recruited from Chicago. Thornton came from a prep school, Lewis from a juco. Johnson has played very little and didn't play at all against Bradley in the last game, Upshaw hasn't played at all. And Smith hasn't played yet either, nor has Trey Blue, who was also not recruited from Chicago, but via a prep school, and Fordham U. Threloff isn't from Chicago, but even if he was, he is still in high school and might not be much help next year when he does arrive.

In other words, despite all this info, the question was-
What Chicago kid has ISU gotten that's helped them even one iota in the last 5 years since Porter landed OE?

And the answer is still- none.
