personally I'd love if it was like this all the time, and if it was, then when we had POB we'd have been undefeated and gone to the Final Four..
Anyway...a solid banger/center like Dinma took ISU 5 years of scholarship commitment and doesn't happen often in the MVC...we can want a center like that but it's not like you can get one off ebay...
and BB - I am sorry I never saw such a post..please relink if you would, please...Last edited by wily coyote; 02-10-2010, 03:11 PM.

We talk all the time about how much talent this team has. We had high expectations this year. Many said now or never. I can't stand the thought of seeing SM and AW finish their time here and not see the Tourney once. Eight years and nothing has improved in the last six years. What reasons do we have to think anything will change next year. I just don't want BU to sit around waiting for JL to figure things out while the program slowly slides down hill and then when they do bring in someone new its a rebuild project. I would love to see JL exceed more than anyone, but something has to change whether its the top dog or his assistants or strategy or something, but what's in place right now clearly hasn't been working."How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it." - Jim Valvano

ie the book of what Wichita State did in landing Gregg Marshall after he rolled at Winthrop...
Examples:
Mike Lonergan, Vermont
Randy Rahe, Weber State
Blaine Taylor, Old Dominion
Tod Kowalczyjk, Green Bay
Brad Brownell, Wright State
Fran McCaffery, Siena
Keith Dambrot, Akron
Billy Kennedy, Murray State
Scott Sutton, Oral Roberts
Randy Bennett, St. Mary's
And I'm certain I missed a few...also there are some Divison II coaches that I'm certain would be real good finds...
HAVE I GIVEN YOU ENOUGH TO TALK ABOUT?!

But no one with the name Dambrot will ever be Head Coach at Bradley.
Like, I said, I didn't even mention top assistants who i feel are more than qualified.

But his uncle Irwin was the guy (passed away late last month from Parkinson's) who hammered Melchiorre on the no-call in the 1950 NCAA Championship that could've given BU the title. . .

No two officials call the game the same way because they are humans not machines. We just need to adapt to how the game is being called and in most instances it just takes a few whistles or no whistles to determine how its going to be called. With Baywatch we know he usually lets em play. What I was trying to say ,is we just don't have the Bigs to counteract the physical play that some in our league do and that puts us at a disadvantage. Not the stripes working each game. It would be nice to have consistency from each crew we get to work are games but that will never happen because of many different reasons.

I don't blame the coaching
Bdu4---Yes! If we don't win the MVC Tourn. or otherwise get invited to the NCAA or NIT, our season should be over. A mediocre year should not be rewarded just for the sake of more $$$ or to boost a bad W-L record. This should be firmed up and clearly understood before the year begins. Otherwise, our goals get watered down with the belief that we will be in a post season tournament regardless of how we play. The players can use the time on the books and they can work on their skills for next year in the gym. A few extra meaningless games is not going to improve them. Also tournament time can be put to better use by the coaches to recruit which is hard to do if you are preparing for a "Ho-Hum" tournament.

Good grief the mind is spinning....
I don't think I would be for a change next year either. What I would be for is a sit down between the AD and JL and see what the course of action is for next year. Obviously the biggest concerns is coaching. And I still think it may be difficult for JL to get a top asst. with EB as associate head coach...AND being on the hot seat at the same time.....this seems likea huge hurdle for JL going forward.
I would also address the concern for the big-small agenda in recruiting as well.....If you don't have quality bigs you have to have way above avg guards. We have good ones for sure but not enough to overcome the big situation....
We seem to have a problem after half time. We prepare well but don't adjust well...
