What you dont understand is no one on here cares if Les or the University reads this site let alone the newspaper. People get on here to vent frustration. Whether anyone on here is positive or negative that vibe likely is not going to carry over to a game.
I dont think anyone on here believes that by us discussing Les and his coaching will lead to his dismissial. I believe most of us are fully aware that those decision are not based on what we type on here.
And if I want to be negative all day long thats my choice and again my attitute I certainly hope is not in anyway an influence on this program. If those of us on here want to bash Les 24/7 thats our call, but I guarantee no one who bashes or is positive truely believes what is written here has any influence. It is just a form for those who care about Bradley Basketball to vent either negative or positive.
I find it a little funny that you truely believe that those of us on here who discuss Bradley Basketball actually think we have influence on this program. The only influence anyone has is in their wallet. Words on a message board do not.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

And from trying to interpret your post, you are apparently listening and reacting to the posters on here, and you also seem to try to tell us you are part of this braves club. So, i take it you do really care what us post about on here since you took time to belittle us.

People don't know what a board is for. It's to express the current sentiment of the fans. When there isn't much positive to talk about why in the world would people come on here to only post positive things? It makes no sense what some people on here ask. "Why not just stay positive?" I'll respond with a question as well "ABOUT WHAT?". What is positive about this team? We are playing BELOW what we can...I know this. Playing at home is now more of a likelihood of a loss. Why ask us to be positive when there is nothing. When we play good there are positive posts. When we play bad there are negative posts. This board is very realistic for the most part and it's IN SPITE of some other posters on here who are in lala land about everything Bradley and suddenly become very pessimistic about anything not Bradley.
Air Petey, I guess, yeah overall what one poster says isn't going to affect anything. But take a step back and look at this...you are saying what the posters on this board say don't mean anything...well it got YOU listening and you are very quick to announce your "high class" affiliations. Well maybe it has others listening too and maybe they aren't so happy and positive about the way things are going. Just saying...maybe there is a little more power to the "worthless" people that post on here who aren't as "great" as you are and other certain posters.
Congratulations your spending tons of money on a mediocre product and your happy about it.

A. This is a young team.
B. This team capable of being a really good team.
In our past 3-4 games we should have won - Nobody (other than SM) wants the ball! You can tell the kids everyday we need leaders who want the ball - BUT that can't be coached. I truely believe next year, we will have 3 or 4 guys that not only want the ball, they will make it in crunch time. Young teams need years like this to learn and get better. JL is not the problem.
PS - I'm not a BSS member. I have not spent tons of money. My problem is the people that spend "0" money but complain like they are somebody in the program. It's not Business, It's Personal

Something else to think about. The coaches do not read this stuff, but players and most importantly potential recruits read boards from everywhere. Negativity would then hurt recruiting. The recruit says, “Why would I want to go there.” Your negative posts then carries weight to hurt the program as a whole.Last edited by Air Petey; 02-11-2010, 05:05 PM.It's not Business, It's Personal

Maniscalco...Junior...3rd year in the program.
Roberts...Senior...2nd year in the program.
Warren...Junior...4th year in the program.
Brown...sophomore...2nd year in the program.
Egolf...sophomore...3rd year in the program.
DSE...freshman...1st year in the program.
Singh...senior...6th year in the program.
That's our 7 man rotation...5 of the 7 are either seniors or have been in the program for 3 or more years now...we are not 'young'...not by any stretch.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to get into a virtual pissing contest about how much money I have donated or how long I have had season tickets...both are large and long...but thats besides the point...
The point most are getting at is that changes are necessary for the majority to be proud of the direction of the program...
Regardless of whether you spend $500 or $5000 on the program, it will not change your view of wins and losses.
Besides, who are you to say how much time and effort others have invested in the program? How in the heck would you know?!
Voicing opinion is fine, but you may want to spend less time assuming you know things like they are fact, and placing people on the chopping block that have no reason to be there when you simply have no earthly idea what you're talking about.
That is all....

I think worst case scenario, the wheels come off after the latest home embarassment and Jim ends up gone after the season.
Best case is that they wipe out the staff, like some have compared to Lovie Smith/Ron Zook. This could be really good or really ugly.
If Jim is willing to hire coaches that he will allow to change things, I think it could be a very successful move.
If Jim takes the Lovie approach and says "well we are changing coaches but they are going to think like I think and they are going to do what I say", I think it is setting up for disaster. Not only are you not changing anything, but who wants to come into a situation for a 1 year shot at the same ol' same ol' especially if the writing is on the wall.

As everyone knows, I've been a major proponent of pointing out the various mistakes Les has and my complete dislike for his coaching style and both his offensive and defensive systems he has in place...
That being said, I am all for giving him another year to turn it around IF he were to scrap the entire coaching staff and bring in some coaches that can coach better inside/out offensive sets, allow our team to play more zone, establish development of the bigs inside, AND most of all, coaches that can help Jim in game that he will trust to let take a little weight off his shoulders...
As far as I can tell, he does way too much with the assistants doing little in games, so that would be a huge plus.
Also, an assistant w/ some Chicago ties would be nice.
