This is obviously not good, but so far he's taken one visit to a school that currently doesn't have any open scholarships. We don't know whether he's hoping for something "better" than BU or just looking around, and I can't blame him for considering his options. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I just hope he doesn't sign with Marquette...that will make it really painful to watch Marquette play next year...then I'd be forced to see Dwight Buycks, Darius Johnson-Odom, and John Wilkins all playing together in Marquette unis...and that would be torture to me...3 guys that BU came very close to getting, but went on to the same BCS pasture...Ugh.

Did this have to come out TODAY!? Puts a little damper on my increasingly festive mood... I still have hope, maybe blind hope, but it's there.
By the sound of the coach's quotes it sounds as if he was sugar coating it for the PJS and is drawing in other schools saying he is open. Hopefully the truth is somewhere in the middle and only an offer from top 15 team would change his mind. Afterall, PC isn't exactly the cream of the crop in the Big East. Not to mention, Keno might not be there to see John's...oh, wait, nvm...

The coach is doing what most high school or JUCO coach would be doing for his guy - trying to get the best situation for him. Sure, it sounds like he could be the big fish in the small pond in the MVC, but if he's as good as everyone says, he could be the big fish in the big pond somewhere else.Onward and Upward!

Completely agree BB, and I have no problem with that. I also think getting these coaches in to see John raises the level of exposure for the rest of the players on that roster, which is also something he should be doing for the good of his kids.

I still say he would love BU and would regret changing his mind to go elsewhere. He could have 1 heck of a college career here in the Valley.DUBL R 1

Providence does not have an available scholarship, and JW has received no offer...
can you blame the kid for taking a trip and seeing the sights?
BTW - he watched Providence get beat at home for their 3rd straight loss and 5th in the last 6 games, falling to 4-7 in the BE, and hearing a few boos along the way as a whole lot of Providence fans are beginning to feel the way DePaul, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Rutgers fans are feeling, staking out the bottom of a 16-team conference and not even having football to enjoy...
the sky is not falling...yet**....if JW wants quality playing time, then he still knows where the right place is that even his dad can make it to all his games...
** although the sky appeared to be falling a couple days ago to some who bemoaned what had happened to AW, and then again a few weeks earlier when Sam M. had a couple bad games, etc, etc...Last edited by tornado; 02-09-2010, 04:18 PM.

But with Marquette being relatively close to his dad, They could be attractive to him.

In my eyes, without signing a letter, he is just like all the other recruits I see Bradley looking at in the Recruits section of this board. If we get him great, if not, we'll make due without him.
Providence doesn't scare me either. Struggling in the huge Big East conference vs. an almost guaranteed 4 or 5 finish in the Valley every year? Don't see him going to either school to be honest.
