Wow, that is awesome...way to go Sammy, well deserved!

Can anybody find the last time a BU player was back to back POW? My guess would be Marcellus Sommerville, Philip Gilbert or AP...or even further back.

This week could definately make or break sammy's shot at POY if we knock of both isu and UNI and he keeps putting up his numbers it'll take a robbery for him not to win it.

2 POW's in 3 weeks certainly helps POY status. The ultimate boost would come from running the table to 12-6...

Ruff, Will Frankiln, and JC could have done it...

Sammy's only shot is that we run the table and finish 3rd and his numbers continue to shine for the last 5 games.

Agreed. 16-2 UNI (they lose at Carver on Saturday ) still I think favors an Egelseder POY, but a 12-6 BU puts Sam in a conversation, and certainly on the 1st team.

On the MVC release, among the other "Notables" is Colt Ryan...
"Colt Ryan (UE) scored a career-high 31 Wednesday at Creighton, and added 17 Saturday against Bradley.
He's now within seven points of the UE freshman scoring record."

Without a doubt Sammy makes 1st team at this point...question is, who are the 3 others?

I think Hannah has to get some consideration...

Have Eldridge or Josh Young done enough to get there?

Josh Young - no...this is actually a down year, with 14.0 ppg (compared to 15.9 and 15.4 the past 2 years), and only 36 3-pointers (had averaged 68/yr over his first 3 seasons).
So with Drake at 11-14, unless he hits 30 every nite through the tourney, then I would put Young on 2nd team..
I would have SM, AW, and Eglseder on 1st team with Hannah and the final spot is between OE and Marshall - whoever finishes the strongest...

I think there is 0 chance that BU gets two guys on the first team and UNI only gets one...that will never happen, regardless of the numbers.
If UNI ends up going 16-2 or 17-1 in the league, Kwazdo or Koch will make first team along with Egleseder...regardless of what their numbers may be.
If BU finishes around .500 in the league, they will be lucky to get Sammy on the first team...Warren won't get much consideration at all in that scenario, IMO.
Adam Emmenecker was 1st team all-Valley and POY when Drake ran through the Valley, even though his pure numbers were inferior to many others in the league...and I would suspect that UNI would also deserve to have a second guy on the Valley 1st team if they end up winning the league by a wide margin (as it appears will be the case).

I know and that's why I said "I would have..."
I see it as an award for outstanding play by the individual...not necessarily given to a guy just because he was on a winning team...
Creighton and UNI kinda ran away with it last year, but each had only one player on the 1st team...
In 2008, Drake had a cakewalk in the MVC and steamrolled everyone, yet they still didn't have 3 guys on the 1st team (Adam Emmenecker had 6.5 apg/Josh Young averaged 16 ppg and 43.4% on 3's)...so I can't see UNI getting three this year...especially when nobody has those kind of impressive numbers...
But if you say it should be Adam Koch, then the argument is that he is only 12th in scoring and isn't even in the top 20 in rebounding in Valley play...
Kwadzo isn't top-15 in any category at all...

I believe JY has, especially in conference, but King O has been out of sync all year - maybe he needs a 5th year, or 6th like SS, to shake off the rust to be drafted in the NBA. Unfortunately for SS, he won't be getting too many offers, which is a shame - he's doubled his point total over the past few weeks!!!
