I know Coach Mo would be the first to say he is a little disappointed in his team's performance this season, but consider this...
WIU is currently 9-13, and they play at home today for a chance to get their 10th win.
That doesn't sound too impressive, but recall they only won 9 last year then lost their top scorers...so Coach Molinari didn't know what to expect this year with virtually none of their scoring coming back...
Plus ....they still have several winnable games left - at least 5 more against teams whose RPI are in the 300 range...so they could conceivably still get to 12 or 13 wins.
That would give WIU more wins than in any year since 1998!!
But next year should be better -- their returning best scorer for next year is just now a sophomore, and 12 of their best 14 players (they lose a 9 ppg and 6 ppg scorer) will return next year.
