A pretty good article (if I do say so myself) about all 10 MVC matchups in the ESPN Bracketbusters. Any early predictions?

Last year only two of the road Valley teams won their BracketBuster (BU and MSU), but...
I think all but one of the home teams win this year...

You don't think we'll win this game?

I think we will..but I think there is a Valley home team in BB that won't win...someone who faces a team that just lost a heartbreaker on the road by a single point to snap their 11 game winning streak...

I can't see Morehead State going into Normal and winning a game... although if Osiris goes without a bucket again, anything can happen!

We are too deep for them? We only play 8 guys, and 7 significant minutes. Our staters are all usually well over 30 minutes. If we are too deep for them, I can't imagine how few guys they play.

I think the Valley will go 7-3 - a typical Valley BB beatdown!

              Losing teams:

Wichita St. - lose by a few
I.S.U. (red) - they don't come ready to compete
I.S.U. (blue) - early blowout becomes insurmountable for Indy St. to come back

What do you guys know about Morehead State that makes you think they'll beat ISU?

I don't know much about Moorehead St., but I think a Valley home team will not come ready to play, and I think it will be I.S.U. (red). They're good at home when they have good fan support, but there likely won't be a big draw for this game. The 'Birds won't have much at stake - possibly to get another NIT bid, but they still need to finish in the top 4 of the MVC for that.
I think SIU and BU will treat their BB game like any other game, as they have in previous BB match-ups.

I don't think Moorehead St. is better than I.S.U., but anything can happen.

Drexel has a much better chance of beating us than Morehead State does of beating ISU.

It sounds like a great name for a school. I bet recruiting is EASY!

We play 9-10 players depending how the game goes. Not often we ever use fewer than 9. We are a deep team and each player has a role, so not everyone is a scorer.

Deep doesn't mean everyone can score, but everyone can contribute at least. For most of the conference season besides garbage time in the last few minutes of blowouts, the only significant minutes have been played by 7 guys and Eastman for a few. Look at the box scores. Against Creighton we played 8 guys total and Eastman only played 5 minutes. I know McCain has been hurt, but even when he has been available he hasn't played that much. Our starters play well over 30 minutes with SS spelling WE and DSE spelling the guards with a few minutes from JE. Even when McCain is healthy, when is the last time we played 9-10 guys significantly? We have used 8 guys a lot lately, so I would say we do not usually use 9 guys very regularly.

A team that has 7-8 guys that play significant minutes is not a team I would call deep. I think we have a lot of potential to be deep in the future, but for whatever reason most of the guys on our bench are obviously not ready yet or they would be playing. Injuries have had an effect as well.

I am a drexel guy I was referring to the depth comment for our game against you, saying we are probably deeper than you, even against common belief. Luckily for you guys we normally are not any good on the road.

Oh haha, I didn't realize that. The article said we had more depth than you and I was disputing that, and thought you were trying to defend that we had depth. I would not be surprised if you are deeper, between injuries and guys that have shown they are not ready yet I don't think we are very deep this year. Although by the time we play the return game in the next couple years sometime I think we will become very deep.

Haha I was wondering how someone could have argued we have played 9-10 guys when we clearly haven't.
